Newton’s laws of motion tackles relations between the forces acting on a body and the motion of the body,
first formulated by English physicist and mathematician Sir Isaac Newton. Newton’s first law states that, if
a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a

rate of change of the momentum of a body is equal in both magnitude and direction to the force imposed
on it. Newton’s third law states that when two bodies interact, they apply forces to one another that are
equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.

Science LM and TG, Instructional Materials/Visual Aids (Photos, Print outs, Diagrams,
3. Learning Resources Illustrations, etc.), Powerpoint presentation of the Laws of Motion, Laptops and/or mobile
phones and other audio-visual resources, Wi-Fi

4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory (Routine) 1. Routinely activities will be done. (checking of attendance, submission of
Activity assignments, etc., reminding the rules, arranging the chairs and readying their lecture and
activity notebook as well as to tidy up the classroom to be ready for the lesson.)

(Review) 2. The students were assigned to numbers prior to the discussion. The teacher
will be giving a mathematical equation. The student who is assigned to the number which
is the answer to the equation will be the one to answer the review question.

(Motivation) 3. The teacher will read a situation to the class and volunteer students will
answer what Republic Act caters the situation given to them. The Republic Acts
mentioned are R.A. 10626 Anti-Bullying Act, R.A. 10175 Cybercrime Prevention Act,
R.A. 9344 Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System Act, R.A. 9003
Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, R.A. 4136 Land Transportation and Traffic
Code Act, R.A. 3019 Anti-Graft and Corruption Practices, Salary Standardization Law,
Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Act.

3.1. After this activity, the teacher will ask the students the following questions:
a. What were the different R.A.s given to you?
b. What are those R.A.s in our country?
c. Why are laws important?
d. How would you imagine a world without laws?

(Introduction of the Topic) 4. The teacher will then present the topic which is “Newton’s
Thee Three Laws of Motion”.

4.2 Activity 1. Students will be partitioned according to learning interests. There will be five groups,
two groups for auditory learners, two groups for visual learners and one group for
kinesthetic learners.

2. The students will be performing varied activities which cater their learning styles.
There will be three activities which are the following:

a. Auditory group will be given a song for them to study and interpret.
b. Visual group will be given a reading material for them to paraphrase and summarize.
c. Kinesthetic group will be given three experimental set up to manipulate and perform
while gathering data. This experiment will be carried out through the website
physicsclassroom.com with the link
https://www.physicsclassroom.com/Physics-Interactives/Newtons-Laws

Note for the teacher: For learners not attending the class, the link for the activities will be sent through the
GC for them to be able to perform the experiment. e-USB/e-Speaker is utilized by learners without/ with
limited internet connection. Last resort would be to give lesson notes.

3. The students will be given ten minutes to understand and analyze the activities with the
help of guide questions.

4. As a form of assistance, the teacher will have a word wall which contains unfamiliar
words and the definition of the words will be supplied by the students as they go along the
activity.
4.3 Analysis 1. From the activity above, the students are asked the following guide questions to give
them better insights of the concept of the topic. During the activity, the teacher had
introduced unfamiliar terms to unlock and the students are to analyze the words and know
its meaning through the activity. The teacher will make sure that she applies GAD
Practices such as, but not limited to gender equality in group discussions, gender equality
in groupings, and gender equality in praising.

a. Auditory Groups
- Why is the kicked ball back on the surface after it was in motion?
- What is the first law of motion?
- How do you describe the relationship of an object’s mass to the force needed for
it to move? Based form your answer, what is the second law of motion?
- What is the third law of motion?
- How will you define force, weight and motion?

b. Visual Groups
- What are the three laws of motion?
- Why is it important to understand the three laws of motion?
- How will you apply these laws in real life situations?
- How will you define force, weight and motion?

c. Kinesthetic groups
- Why did the ball move? Why did it stop?
- Which object would need more force to move, the light or the heavy object?
- Did the wall move? Why?
- In your own words, state the three laws of motion based on the given activities.
- How will you define force, weight and motion?

2. The teacher will have a parking lot station which will be filled by the students if they
have questions that needs clarifications. This will be entertained right after the discussion
if there is extra time or the next meeting.
4.4 Abstraction
1. The teacher will have an interactive discussion wherein the students will have to supply
their answers from the analysis of the activity and the teacher will provide supplementary
details to further develop the lesson. Prior to the discussion, the teacher will introduce key
terminologies which they unlocked during the time they were answering the guide
questions or will unlock during the discussion. This will be done through a word wall.

2. The teacher will use pictures to better explain the three concepts.

3. The content of the lesson are the following:

- During Isaac Newton’s work, he came up with the three basic ideas that
are applied to the physics of most motion. The ideas have been tested and verified so
many times over the years, that scientists now call them Newton's Three Laws of Motion.
- The first law says that an object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object
in motion tends to stay in motion, with the same direction and speed.
- The second law says that the acceleration of an object produced by a net
(total) applied force is directly related to the magnitude of the force, the same direction as
the force, and inversely related to the mass of the object.
- The third law says that for every action (force) there is an equal and
opposite reaction (force). Forces are found in pairs.
- Newton's law are very important because they tie into almost everything
we see in everyday life. These laws tell us exactly how things move or sit still, like why
you don't float out of bed or fall through the floor of your house. Newton's laws control
how cars work, how water flows, how buildings don't fall down, and basically how
everything around us moves.

4.5 Application
The students will be back with their groups and they will be asked to roam around the
campus and they will be taking pictures of scenes portraying the three laws of motion.
They will then send these photos to the teacher through any media sharing platform. The
students will also make a collage of these photos through Google Jamboard using the link
given to them.

4.6 Assessment Group Critiquing
The students will be with the same grouping and will
be tasked to create a foldable which shows the 3 laws of
motion with drawings as examples showing real life
situations. Foldable is a 3-D, student-made, interactive
graphic organizer based upon a skill of art and data
organization. Making a Foldable gives students a fast,
kinesthetic activity that helps them organize and retain
Analysis of Learners’
information. These foldables will be used as a review for

tomorrow’s discussion. Instead of the teacher grading their
work, the other group will be tasked to grade their foldables
in accordance to the criteria below. This will enable the
students to translate their assessment of the foldable in to
numerical values.
(For rubric, please see attachment)
Even though the students’ works will be scored by
their classmates, the teacher will give feedback for the
improvement of their foldables.
