The Problem and Its Background

Introduction

Fun-filled activities refer to enjoyable and

entertaining things you can do to have a good time. These can

include anything from playing games, exploring hobbies, going

on outings, or engaging in recreational activities that bring

joy and amusement. Since everyone is unique, so are our

notions of the perfect vacation spots. Some people would

rather relax on a tropical island’s beach. Some decide to

indulge in physically demanding sports and activities at this

time. Here are example of different fun-filled activities

offered in different country such as horse riding, jet

skiing, touch rugby, golf, football, river rafting, hand-

gliding etc. Fun-filled activities offered by different

country are loved all over the world. Irrespective of race,

gender, or language, we all enjoy the thrill and excitement

that comes with watching or doing the different activities.

 In this modern day, a lot of people are seeking a good

spot for leisure activities such as canoeing, campfire and

stargazing, and swimming that they can go without any hassle.

Within the province of Bulacan lies a town named Santa Maria.

Being only an hour away from Metro Manila, it is an ideal

local destination and one of the most popular tourist spots

for a quick weekend getaway every summer season. It is

located within the eastern section of the province of

Bulacan. According to a published article by the Bulacan

Government, through their official website, Bulacan has fast

become an ideal tourist destination, owing to its vital role

in Philippine history, and its rich heritage in culture and

the arts and Dubbed as the "Northern Gateway from Manila".

Nowadays, a lot of people identifies Bulacan as one of

the rural places that have leisure activities with nature-

inspired aesthetic. With the proximity of Bulacan with the

highly populated cities from Pampanga and Metro Manila,

Bulacan is considered as a highly accessible leisure spot.

Some of the resorts that people can easily access while

staying in Sta. Maria Bulacan are the following: Floating

Sanctuary, 4k Garden Resort, Long Meadows Country Resort,

Hidden Tropics, and 3M's Garden Resort and Pavillion.

 This research aims to identify the fun activities

offered by nature-inspired resorts in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

According to a published article of the Philippine News

Agency, many people are trying to catch up on for the time

they were confined to their homes during the height of the

health crisis due to lockdowns. This study also aims to

determine the customers’ preferences by exploring the factors

affecting their satisfaction towards the selected nature-

inspired resorts.

Conceptual Framework

This study used Input-Process-Output (IPO system), as

shown in figure 1 on the next page which guided the

researchers on the conduct of their study.

The Input (I) consist consists of reading materials

taken from academic journals, articles, and online sources;

Data from the nature-inspired resort owners or management in

Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

The Process (P) consists of gathering the data through

the survey questionnaire, interpretation of data statistical

treatment of data, analysis and interpretation of data.

 The Output (O) of the study is different fun-filled

activities of the selected nature-inspired resorts in Sta.

Maria, Bulacan, and factors affecting the customers’

satisfaction towards the selected nature-inspired resorts in

Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to address the following research problems:

1. How do the employees and visitors assess the fun-filled

activities offered by selected nature-inspired resorts

in Sta. Maria, Bulacan?

2. Is there significant difference in the assessments of

the groups of respondents on the fun-filled activities

offered by selected nature-inspired resorts in Sta.

Maria, Bulacan?

3. What are the problems encountered relative to fun-filled

activities?

Hypothesis

This study hypothesizes that:

There is no significant difference in the assessments of the

groups of respondents on the fun-filled activities offered by

selected nature-inspired resorts in Sta. Maria, Bulacan

Scope and Limitations of the study

This study focuses only on the selected nature-inspired

resorts in Santa Maria, Bulacan. This research aims to create

a descriptive study about the different activities offered by

the selected resorts. The contents and method of this study

were strictly exclusive on the purpose of identifying and

analyzing the significant factors influencing the customers’

satisfaction towards the studied resorts.

Significance of the Study

The primary objective of this study is to determine the

different activities offered by the selected nature-inspired

resorts in Santa Maria, Bulacan. This study also aims to

determine the factors affecting the costumers’ satisfaction

towards the studied resorts. Therefore, this research will be

beneficial to the following:

Resort Owners or Management. This study will offer the

management, who was instrumental in making sure that the

demands and desires of the customers would be met, relevant

and helpful information. This would assist them in coming up

with fresh concepts that they could use as the foundation for

creating marketing plans that would draw in more clients.

Customers. The customers will benefit from this study.

As soon as the resort's owners or management identified the

areas that required work, they were able to provide the

customers a higher-quality facilities and services.

 Students. This study may serve as a guide and reference

for the students undertaking similar studies.

Tourism Industry in Bulacan. This study highlights some

of the travel-worthy leisure places in Bulacan.

Definition of Terms

For better understanding of the study, the following

terms ae defined in the context of this research;

Accessible Leisure Spot. A place designed to provide

facilities for a range of leisure pursuits, such as a sports

hall, café, and pools etc.

Aesthetic. It is relating to

the enjoyment or study of beauty it also includes factors

such as balance, color, movement, pattern, scale, shape and

visual weight.

Leisure activities. An avocation is a leisure activity

or a hobby, while a vocation is a person’s career,

profession, or calling. (N.L, Danigelis, 2009)

 Local destination. destination is a unique place where a

visitor spends at least one night and exhibit tourism product

such as attractions, support services and tourism resources

complete with the defined management, physical and

administrative boundaries and a wellknown image. (Mutuku,

2013)

Satisfaction. A fulfillment of an obligation.
