LESSON PROPER
MOTIVATION For my students to get motivated the
teacher will give a motivation activity
“Students Song”
called a student song.
I. ENGAGE The teacher will group the class into 2.
Each group has its one representative to
“Guess What”
act in class. Each representative will pick
a word in the fish bowl and act/perform
the word in front. The group then
guesses the correct word corresponds to
what the representative act. The group
who guesses more words wins.
II. EXPLORE With the same group, they will now
actively explore new concepts about how
“Bring me Words”
portfolio helps learners. Each group will
be given a manila paper and a marker.
They will provide words/phrase that will
describe the word “portfolio”. After that,
each group will select a discussant and
report what they have made. And they
will connect the words they provided and
tell the importance of portfolio in the
learners.
III. EXPLAIN The teacher now introduces the
important role of teacher to communicate
“Introducing the topic”
the progress of the learners based on the
(Using Portfolios to Help Learners) learning targets. Also, she will give some
tips in making portfolios a powerful
vehicle in communicating learning
progress and areas needing
improvement.
In order for the class to be more
interactive and collaborative, she will call
a name based on the number that she
picks in the fish bowl. Each number in
the fish bowl correspond the name in
attendance sheet. The student that will
be call will give her opinion on the
question given and she can ask for help
if she doesn’t have any idea.
IV. ELABORATE In order for the teacher to see what the
“Think of Me” students have learned, each of them will
select three (3) in the tips in making
portfolios a powerful vehicle in
communicating learning progress and
areas needing improvement. In a one-
half sheet of paper, they will give some
examples/situations and elaborate it
based on their own understanding.
V. EVALUATE To evaluate students understanding of
the topic, they will be given a task to
“Learning Check”
write a summary of the lesson by a
poem.
