RE: DETAILED REPORT ON KONICA MINOLTA C224 PRINTER ERROR - "ORIGINAL LEFT ON GLASS"
AND "REPLACE DRUM UNIT"

I hope this report finds you well. As requested, I have conducted a thorough invesUgaUon into
the error messages displayed on the Konica Minolta C224 printer at Fumbini School, as well as
the printer's performance and usage since its installaUon. The details of my findings and
recommendaUons are outlined below.

1. Error Messages:

a) "Original Le[ on Glass":

Upon inspecUng the printer, I confirmed that no documents were le[ on the scanner glass.
However, upon further invesUgaUon, I discovered that the error message was due to a minor
misalignment of the scanner lid. I realigned the lid properly, and the error message was
resolved.

b) "Replace Drum Unit":

Based on the printer's usage history and the number of copies printed (approximately 5800+
copies), it is safe to assume that the drum unit has reached the end of its lifespan. A worn-out
drum unit can negaUvely impact print quality and lead to print defects and streaks. Hence, it is
strongly recommended to replace the drum unit promptly to maintain opUmal prinUng
performance.

2. Printer Performance and Usage:

a) Total Copies Printed:

The Konica Minolta C224 printer has printed a total of approximately 5800+ copies since its
installaUon. This high print volume suggests that the printer is being effecUvely uUlized within
the school environment.

b) Color CalibraUon and Quality:

During my inspecUon, I conducted color calibraUon tests to ensure accurate color reproducUon.
The printer demonstrated excellent color quality and consistency, which is crucial for
educaUonal materials and presentaUons.
c) Consumable UUlizaUon:
Analysis of the printer's consumable uUlizaUon indicates that the toner levels are within
acceptable limits. However, considering the number of copies printed, it is recommended to
monitor the toner levels closely and have replacement toner cartridges readily available.

d) Maintenance and Cleaning:

Regular maintenance and cleaning of the printer are essenUal for opUmal performance and
print quality. It is advisable to follow the manufacturer's guidelines regarding appropriate
cleaning procedures and intervals to prevent any potenUal issues.

3. Recommenda3ons:

Based on the findings above, the following recommendaUons are suggested for Fumbini School:

a) Drum Unit Replacement:

To eliminate further prinUng issues and maintain high-quality prints, it is crucial to replace the
drum unit. Please order a new drum unit from a trusted supplier and have it installed by a
qualified technician. This will ensure smooth and uninterrupted prinUng operaUons.

b) Regular Maintenance:
Establish a schedule for regular maintenance and cleaning of the printer. Adhering to the
manufacturer's guidelines will prolong the printer's lifespan, minimize downUme, and guarantee
consistent print quality.

c) Training and User Awareness:

Provide training or refresher sessions to the printer users at Fumbini School, highlighUng proper
handling and troubleshooUng techniques to prevent common errors and ensure efficient usage
of the printer.

d) Monitoring Consumables:
Implement a system to monitor consumable levels, parUcularly toner, to avoid running out
during crucial periods. This will help prevent delays and ensure uninterrupted prinUng.

e) Printer Management So[ware:

Consider implemenUng printer management so[ware for efficient monitoring of printer usage,
maintenance schedules, and supply levels. This will assist in effecUve printer management and
minimize unforeseen issues.
