Reflection

Throughout the course of ENC1101, I have learned many things, from learning more
about grammar, logical fallacies, rhetorical analysis, and even how to write better than I was
coming into ENC1101. I have never been a confident writer, and that is because I have never
been the best writer. However, taking this class has taught me that, I can become a good writer,
and I have- at least better than I was in high school. I have really enjoyed this class and have
learned quite a bit. Overall, my English teachers throughout high school were not always the
best. They did not try to help me or the students when we were struggling, nor did they teach us
stuff in class. They expected us to know everything we needed to know for the class as we
entered at the beginning of the year, which set me up, and the entire class, for failure. However,
my English teacher in my senior year of high school was amazing and taught me the most I have
learned throughout my high school years. Which I believe set me up for success in this class. I
know this is cheesy but, I learned that with hard work and dedication, I can do anything I set my
mind to. English has not always been my easiest subject. Through hard work, dedication, having
my family help me with my writing, and one on one time with you in the tutoring sessions, and
even my struggles, I feel that I have grown as a student and as a writer. My positive experience
in this class is the one reason that I made sure to take ENC1102 with you next semester. I loved
you as a teacher, and I am very excited to have you again next semester for ENC1102.
