TENDER DOCUMENTS
VOLUME 3 (Part A)
2.1.1.1 The depth of Pile for this tender has been taken 12 m below pile cut-off level including
socket. The adjustments for extra/ less depth of Pile shall be made as below.
For difference in depth the adjustments shall be made for increase/ decrease of the cubic
contents of Concrete @ Rs 12500/- per cum. This adjustment rate includes reinforcement
and all other associated processes/activities for the same.
2.1.1.2 There may be adjustment to alignment owing to requirement of Land owning agencies with
horizontal shifts which shall have to be undertaken without any financial Impact/cost.
2.1.1.3 The Final location survey of the alignment and stations given in GAD to accommodate the
statutory & other requirements including adjustments to Vertical and horizontal alignments
without any financial impact/cost.
2.1.1.4 Maximum cantilever pier cap in general will be limited to 2m only. In all other cases where
the cantilever is more than 2m the portal shall be provided.
2.1.1.5 The viaduct has to cross Mumbai Sub-Urban Western Railway (Along Bhayander Flyover).
Bidder may take a note of it and bid/quote accordingly.
2.1.1.6 To protect the reinforcement bar from corrosion for the super-structure (components of
Viaduct/Bridge/Stations above bearings) by “Bipolar Concrete Penetrating Corrosion
inhibiting Admixture” should be used (RDSO specification No: M&C/PCN/126-2008).
2.1.1.7 The contractor shall plan his design & construction in such a way that the existing foot over
bridge at various locations are not disturbed. However, wherever any modification to the
FOB’s are required, the same shall be carried out after obtaining approval of the Engineer.
The cost of such modifications shall be included in Lump sum price Schedule ’A’.
2.1.1.8 For concreting of pile and pile cap, only Portland Slag Cement (PSC) shall be used. To
protect the reinforcement bar from corrosion for pile and pile caps, a coating of “Fusion
Bonded Epoxy Coating” as per IS 13620:1993/Hot Dip Galvanising coating with a minimum
thickness of 100 microns, shall be done. For substructure i.e. structure above pile cap and
upto bearing “Bipolar Concrete Penetrating Corrosion inhibiting Admixture” should be used
(RDSO specification No: M&C/PCN/126-2008). Bidder has to consider and include rate of this
while submitting his bids.
2.1.1.9 The contractor shall plan his design & construction in such a way that the existing foot-over
bridge / skywalks/ Entry Gate Way at Dahisar & at various locations are not disturbed.
However, wherever any modification to the FOB’s are required, the same shall be carried
out after obtaining approval of the Engineer. The cost of such modifications shall be
included in Lump sum price Schedule ’A’.
2.1.1.10 Micro silica conforming to ASTM C1240 at 5% to 10% of cement volume as admixture in
concrete grade M-40 and above where OPC is used shall be provided considering
environmental condition of Mumbai. No Flyash is allowed for elevated structures.
(i) Detailed survey of the alignment for viaduct, Geotechnical / soil investigation at every pier
location, utility checking, fixing an optimized span configuration avoiding shifting of utilities as
per contractor’s design subject to the obligatory requirements as shown in the GAD.
(ii) Design & construction of pile foundations and sub-structure including piers, pile caps,
pedestals, pier caps, bearings and shear restrainers.
(iii) Construction of super structure with U-Girder for standard span (25m) for straight alignment
