CFE-5A FINAL Q#1

Reflection on recollection

1. Give three (3) significant insights which you have learned from the recollection.

Our recent recollection provided me with three profound insights that have left a lasting impact on
my understanding of life, self, and faith: Firstly, the recollection emphasized the importance of self-love in
loving others. It underscored the notion that without a deep and genuine love for oneself, it becomes
challenging to fulfill one of the fundamental commandments of God, which is to love our neighbors as we
love ourselves. The session reminded me that self-love is not a selfish act but a prerequisite for cultivating
meaningful connections with others. After all, how can one authentically give love if it is not first present
within oneself? Secondly, the recollection taught me that our worth should never be tethered to the way
others treat us. In a world where external validation often dictates our sense of self-worth, it was a powerful
reminder that our intrinsic value is not contingent upon the opinions or actions of others. As emphasized by
speakers Bro. Neil and Bro. Noel, our worth is not earned or lost through external validation; rather, it is
inherent because God loves us. This insight serves as a source of strength and resilience in me, allowing me
to navigate life's challenges with a steadfast understanding of my inherent worth. Lastly, the recollection
reinforced the idea that God's love for us is unconditional and not based on our perceived worth. It served as
a comforting reassurance that, no matter the circumstances, how sinful we are, or how others may perceive
us, God's love remains constant. As Bro. Neil and Bro. Noel eloquently stated, our worth is not the reason for
God's love; rather, we are deemed worthy because God loves us. This perspective has instilled in me a sense
of security and acceptance, knowing that I am valued by a force greater than human judgment. In conclusion,
our recent recollection provided me with valuable insights into the significance of self-love in our journey to
love our neighbors, the detachment of worth from external opinions, and the unwavering nature of God's
love. These insights have become guiding principles in my journey towards personal growth and spiritual
development.

2. How did the recollection affect you as a person or a child of God?

Our recent recollection has had a profound impact on me, touching every aspect of my being as a
student and as a child of God. Mentally, the emphasis on gratitude and positive thinking has reshaped my
mindset, infusing my academic pursuits with newfound resilience and purpose. Engaging in reflections on
blessings, self-love and worth has illuminated the importance of mental well-being in facing challenges.
Moreover, during our group sharing, the realization that each of us has faced struggles in life created a
profound sense of solidarity, reinforcing the notion that I am not alone in my journey. Emotionally, the
recollection has become a sanctuary of comfort and strength. Understanding that others, too, grapple with
challenges has created a supportive community, diminishing feelings of isolation. The theme of loving others,
as discussed in the recollection, has prompted a deeper reflection on compassion and empathy, influencing
the way I engage with those people around me. Spiritually, the session has deepened my connection to a
higher purpose. Moments of prayer and reflection on God's love have provided a profound sense of
empowerment and guidance. The recollection affirmed the concept that our worth is intrinsic, not dependent
on external validation. Realizing that God loves us not because of our worth but that we are worthy because
God loves us has been a spiritual anchor, influencing my decisions and fostering a deeper sense of peace
within me. In conclusion, the recollection has been a remarkable and transformative journey, impacting my
mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It has underscored the importance of self-love, the realization
that I am not alone in facing challenges, the significance of loving others, and the understanding that my
worth is rooted in God's love. These insights have collectively shaped my identity as both a student and a
Child of God, guiding me toward a more balanced and fulfilling life and in my personal growth and spiritual
development.
