Ju- Hi fellow spectators, this year the public chose me and Gonçalo to be your reviewers

for the famous festival named Coachella. It’s in great honor that we take this role, but first we
would like to explain the purpose and meaning behind this amazing event.

Perna de Pau- So everyone, Coachella (officially called Coachella Valley Music and Arts
Festival, and sometimes known as Coachella Festival) is an annual music and arts festival held at the
Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was co-
founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999, and is organized by Goldenvoice. The event
features musical artists from many genres of music, including rock, pop, indie, hip hop and electronic
dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures. Across the grounds, several stages continuously
host live music.

Ju- Coachella is one of the biggest music festivals in the world, attracting thousands of music lovers
each year. While the festival is primarily known for its impressive lineup of performers, it has also
become famous for its distinct fashion style. In this show, we will explore the history, cultural
significance, and trends of Coachella fashion. It is 3 days of music and art ,day and night also being a
relatively common place where you can find celebrities and influencers. But let’s not bore you with our chit chat
and finally speak about the interesting things in this festival.

Perna de Pau- About 162 artists went up those stages, being Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean and Black Pink on top of
this year’s lineup with additional sets from Calvin Harris, Gorillaz, Rosalía, Burna Boy, etc… This year, the map

of the event made some meaningful changes to accommodate the increased crowd capacity (notably

moving the Sahara tent). The 2022 map looked pretty similar to previous, pre-2020 editions, which
translated in the low crowd capacity and people feeling squashed all the time.

Ju-Moving on to the most talked topic, fashion! Coachella fashion trends change each year, but
some consistent themes emerge. One of the most popular styles is bohemian-inspired clothing,
with flowy dresses, crochet tops, and fringed kimonos. Another trend is the use of bold and bright
colors, paired with statement jewelry and accessories. Denim shorts, graphic tees, and western-
inspired boots are also popular choices.
Gonçalo- In recent years, Coachella has started to feature more diverse performers, and this has
had an impact on fashion and culture at the festival. Attendees have started to incorporate different
cultural elements into their outfits, such as traditional African prints, Indian jewelry, and Native
American headdresses.

However, the use of Native American headdresses at Coachella has faced significant criticism, with
many arguing that it is a form of cultural appropriation. The festival organizers have taken steps to
address this issue by banning the sale of headdresses at the festival and encouraging attendees to
respect the cultural significance of these items.

Judite- Well, in this edition of the music festival, Vogue was in charge of spotting the best looking

outfits in the Event. On the Coachella stages, the glitzy attire worn by performers has been

ready to dazzle the crowds. Headlining group Blackpink embraced their coordinated girl
group style with looks that were heavy on the silver embellishments and cutouts.

Off the stage, meanwhile, the Coachella outfits have been playing into the festival’s style
signatures. We’ll talk, primarily about the performers' attire.

Gonçalo- Let’s start with Kali Uches, who wore an all denim outfit beginning with shoes
and ending on her headpiece. Then, Rosalía ended up going with some black leather pants,
a really flowy jacket and some awesome sunglasses in a kinda odd shape. Becky G, has
definitely one of the most talked about outfits around the performers, she wore a pink
glittery dress, but the twist is it has some cutouts on the sides etc.. so it gave a 2000’s vibe.

Judite- Moving on to influencers outfits, Emma Chamberlain really did it, wearing a
denim, off shoulder dress paired with some red platform shoes. Another influencer who
also wore an all denim outfit was Jaden Smith. Alessandra Ambrosio, decided to go in a
more hippie style, choosing a thin fabric for her orange pants and an outgoing and chilly
top, the designer was Raisa Vanessa. Madison Bailey from Outer Banks, who played Kiara,
had a long sleeve crochet top, a white denim skirt and cowboy boots. Madison Beer, wore a
controversial outfit that made the public comment on, as you can see she decided on going
with a bikini top and some black shorts.

Gonçalo- So everyone, me and Judite are grateful for having you all listening, but it
is time for the show to end. We both hope to see you next year and don’t forget to give us a
good rating on coachella's website, so we can have this awesome opportunity again.
