You fill and drain the water tank at the water service panel. To fill the water tank, you open the fill/overflow valve and add water through the potable water fill fitting until the water overflows from the potable water overflow outlet. The water tank supplies water to these locations: - Galley faucets = Lavatory faucets Each lavatory has a drain valve. The forward Lavatory drain valve drains water from the forward water supply Lines. ‘A water heater in each Lavatory increases the temperature of the water supplied to the hot water faucet. The water tank quantity transmitter sends the water quantity data to a water quantity indicator. The water quantity indicator shows the Level of water in the tank. The water tank is pressurized from the pneumatic manifold. EFFECTIVITY FS004 To drain the potable water system, you open these valves: = Water tank drain valve - Forward lavatory drain valve When you drain the potable water system, the water drains overboard through the forward and aft potable water drain fittings. When you drain the potable water system, you must drain water from these two areas: - The water service panel = The forward Lavatory The water service panel lets you drain the water tank and aft supply Lines. The forward lavatory drain valve lets you drain the forward water supply Lines. WARNING: IF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS NOT DRAINED AT ‘A MINIMUM OF ONE TIME EACH THREE DAYS, THE GROWTH OF BACTERIA CAN OCCUR. IF BACTERIA GROWTH CONTINUES, AND YOU DRINK THE WATER, ILLNESS CAN OCCUR. You must fully drain the potable water system before you add a disinfectant or when you park the airplane in cold weather. 38-10-CC -7- FLIGHTSAFETYBOEING PROPRIETARY) ALL rights reserved ~ See title page for details FlightSafetyBoeing 737-300/400/500 MAINTENANCE TRAINING MANUAL WATER/WASTE — POTABLE WATER - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION WARNING: SEAL THE CARGO COMPARTMENT WITH LINING. During servicing, water from the service panel enters the inside of the filter to clean the inside of the filter. ; ; errecriviry 38-32-00 = 4h = FLIGHTSAFETYBOEING PROPRIETARY) ALL rights reserved ~ See title page for details FlightSafetyBoeing 737-300/400/500 MAINTENANCE TRAINING MANUAL ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO TIMER 1 ronuer roron FT oe TANK FLUSH LINE TANK TOP: MOUNTING: PLATE MOUNTING: BOLT (6) WATER/WASTE - TOILET SYSTEM - TOILET FLUSH MOTOR/PUMP-FILTER ASSEMBLY EFFECTIVITY £5004 SO] 38-32-00 FLIGHTSAFETYBOEING PROPRIETARY) ALL rights reserved ~ See title page for details FlightSafetyBoeing WATER/WASTE — TOILET SYSTEM — TOILET DRAIN VALVE eurnose 737-300/400/500 MAINTENANCE TRAINING MANUAL The toilet drain valve is used during toilet servicing to drain the toilet tank. Location The valve is inside the toilet tank at the bottom. Functional Description The valve is opened during servicing of the toilet tank. Pull the valve handle on the service panel to ‘open the valve. Turn the handle to the locked position to hold the valve open. After servicing, the valve closes by the action of the valve spring in the telescoping guide tube. A rubber boot is around the spring and guide tube to keep waste out of the spring housing. ; ; errecriviry 38-32-00 = 46 - FLIGHTSAFETYBOEING PROPRIETARY) ALL eights reserved ~ See tite page for details FlightSafetyBoeing 737-300/400/500 MAINTENANCE TRAINING MANUAL MOUNTING PLATE MOUNTING \ 4 NUT (6) caBLe aurck gs DiscoNNecr a! Location There are two external toilet service panels. The forward panel is on the right side, aft of the external power access panel. The aft toilet service panel is on the right side, forward of the aft outflow valve. Physical Description Each service panel has a single toilet drain outlet. For each toilet waste tank, there is a flush port and a drain valve handle. The flush port has a hinged cap to prevent water leakage. The toilet drain outlet has a flapper valve with a hinged drain cap on the outside. The toilet flapper valve prevents draining the toilet tank when the drain cap is open. Operation To drain the waste tank, open the drain cap. Connect the Line from the service cart to the toilet drain outlet. Turn the open Lever 1/4 turn to open the toilet flapper valve. After you drain, flush, and precharge the toilet system, remove the line from the toilet drain. Close and latch the drain cap to reset the flapper valve. This pumps fluid from the toilet tank through the filter into the bowl flush ring. The fluid then flows back to the toilet tank. A separator at the bottom of the toilet bowl hides the waste in the tank from the passenger view. The flush operation keeps the separator clean. During servicing, the separator should be in the up position. If it is not, do a check of the flush operation and pull the separator back to the normal position. errecriviry 38-32-00 = 54 = FLIGHTSAFETYBOEING PROPRIETARY) ALL rights reserved ~ See title page for details FlightSafetyBoeing 737-300/400/500 MAINTENANCE TRAINING MANUAL FLUSH RING TOILET BOWL FLUSH TIMER woTOR_ ip 3 TOILET TANK a) / ‘SEPARATOR FILTER. ‘SPRAY NOZZLE: TANK DRAIN VALVE PUNP.
