including hunger, poverty, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
MDG 2, which aims to achieve universal primary education, is one such. Many
nations, including the Philippines, have made efforts to guarantee that every
kid completes basic education.

The MDGs were:

1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger

2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equality and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
7. Ensure environmental sustainability
8. Develop global partnerships for development

2. Mandanas Ruling:
- The Mandanas ruling refers to a Supreme Court decision in the Philippines
that affirmed the just share of local government units (LGUs) in national taxes.
Before this ruling, LGUs received a fixed internal revenue allotment (IRA).

taxes, leading to increased financial autonomy for LGUs. This ruling has
significant implications for local governance and the ability of LGUs to fund
and implement projects that address the specific needs of their communities.
