This first community event I attended was in my city of Inglewood at market street on

September the 24th. This was a hispanic heritage festival that had many things and events such
as the live band, the food trucks and the classic car show they were having on the streets. In my
home city we celebrate this every year when the Inglewood community comes together and has a
fun time celebrating Hispanic culture. Inglewood has alot of hispanics in the community from
different parts of Central America. I had a lot of fun in this event. I live right around the block
and I usually walk around for awhile and I always see a friend or two with their families. I got to
dance with my friends at night with the live band and it was a lot of fun dancing and vibing
together overall just having a good time. My friend's parents were cooking up different things
like tacos, enchiladas, pupusas, and more. The food was great, the music was great but my
favorite thing of all was the classic cars that were shown and brought together. My uncle owns a
classic car and he also attended. I'm not sure what his car is exactly but it's an old classic car
Chevy to be exact. My uncle loves his classic cars. He told me something about classic cars that
were really surprising and it was that old cars go up in value overtime not like the new cars that
are coming out today which are doing the opposite and going down in value. There were alot of
hispanic police officers as well in the community. Everyone was having fun we all felt safe and I
think even saw a cop dancing as well. The mariachi also was there I love mariachi especially
when they sing songs from the greatest mariachi artist of all time which to me is Vicente
Fernandez straight from Mexico Guadalajara Jalisco were my family is from he made a big
impact to the hispanic community and the music industry at the time. I had always said that
Spanish was my first language because growing up in Inglewood almost everyone I knew was at
least hispanic and spoke the same language as well. There was people all around so many tenets
with different activities and food places to eat. I attended this event with some of my friends. We
went and hung out there for awhile alot of my friends participated every year in at least helping
out with cooking or contributing to something so it was cool to see the community coming
together to enjoy and celebrate Hispanic heritage month.
