An evening full of culture and traditions

Hello guys! Sorry, I haven’t been very active lately. How have you been? I’ve had
an amazing weekend…

Last weekend I went to the Diwali Festival in Leicester with some friends. I have to
say that it was an amazing experience. It was my first time going to any cultural
festival, and it has been culturally enriching. I had heard of this festival before, but I
never had planned to go until a few days before one of my friends invited me.

The exciting Hindi music could be heard around the festival. People were laughing,
singing, and having a great time while they heard the crackle of the fireworks. The
smell from the food stalls encouraged as to grab something to eat. The smell of
curry was the most abundant one combined with the smell of food being fried. The
food was delicious. I had some chicken curry with rice. The spiciness of the curry
started to kick in. It was as hot as fire! After eating we walked past some clothing
stalls which had traditional Indian cloths, textiles, and dresses. I grabbed one of the
saris and it was beautiful. Its texture was so silky and soft. It also had some
beautiful beads around the neck of the dress. The lights were all around the
festival. They were bright and luminous full of multi colors. It was fascinating to
watch. The place was so bright, that you couldn’t even tell that it was night time.
Everything was glistening and I was having a wonderful time.

Festivals like this help raise awareness about other cultures. Multiculturalism is
something important, and once in a while it is nice for different cultures to be
brought together. Leicester had a diverse positive atmosphere. More cities in the
UK should be like this; they should promote diversity and acceptance.
Multiculturalism allows people to get together, learn other languages, cultures,
foods, and it has been proved that it makes you smarter. Racism should decrease
since there is something beautiful in every courtiers. What do you guys think?
Comment down below your opinion on multiculturalism, and events like the Diwali
festival in the UK.

The Diwali festival has been by far one of the best experiences I have ever had. It
is a brilliant way to join everyone together regardless of what culture or religion
they have.
