A preposition is a word that describes WHERE someone or something is.
Common prepositions can be words like over, under, between, after, during, behind,
on, off, etc.
There are naturally standard expressions being used, but this will only deal with these
prepositions in general.

We use IN for MONTHS, YEARS, CENTURIES We use IN for an ENCLOSED SPACE and
and LONG PERIODS GEOGRAPHICAL REGIONS

We use ON for a SURFACE and PUBLIC
We use ON for DAYS and DATES

> on Mondays > on the ceiling

> on Christmas Day > on the floor
> on my birthday > on the carpet
> on Independence Day > on the menu

IN ON
Parts of the day: in AT
the morning, afternoon,
evening. Days of the week: Monday,
Tuesday morning … Times: three o’clock,
Months: January,
midday, midnight.
February… Dates: the 12th of July, my
birthday, Christmas Day … Special occasions:
Years: 2001, 2002

New Year.
