SRP Reflective Journal

Guidelines

We have prepared some questions to help guide your reflection:

1. A brief description of the experience you had as SRP:

• Where did you do your service?
• What did you actually do? What were you responsible for?
• Did you have any formation sessions with your mentor? What did you
learn?
2. What were the main challenges you faced?
• What difficulties did you encounter with regards to the organisation, to
the actual work, to relationships with the personnel or other students
involved in the same project?
• How did you overcome these challenges?
3. What did you learn from this experience?
• What did you learn about the issue you were involved in (e.g. about the
environment, about care for animals, about living with disability…)?
• What did you learn about society in general?
• What reflections can you make about poverty and justice in society?
4. What did you discover about yourself?
• What situations made you feel satisfied or fulfilled?
• What situations left you feeling drained or sad or disappointed?
• What did you learn about yourself? (e.g. your interests, your
strengths…)
• In what way do you need to grow? (e.g. to be more patient, to be able
to work in a team…)
• Did this work enlighten you about any desires for your future?
5. How did this experience impact or influence your faith journey?
6. To conclude, what are the main insights or realisations that you wish to keep
with you from this experience?
You may choose to present your reflection either as a Powerpoint with VoiceOver
(Option 1), Edited Video (Option 2), or a Reflective Essay (Option 3).

The work must be handed in by NOT LATER than noon of the 11th September
2023.

OPTION 1

Journal Type PPT Journal

Upload a PPT presentation as a video (6–8mins) that tells the
story of your SRP journey. This presentation may include
video snippets of your experience, images, etc. Your
Journal Description
presentation should be accompanied by a VoiceOver of your
reflection. A copy of the signed logbook should also be
incorporated in the last slide.

OPTION 2

Journal Type Video Journal

Upload a reflection video (6-8mins) that tells the story of your
SRP journey. This video may include snippets of your
Journal Description experience, images, etc. Your video should be accompanied
by a VoiceOver of your reflection. A copy of the signed
logbook should be incorporated.

Journal Type Reflective Essay

Present a reflective essay of minimum 450-500 words.
Journal Description
Essays in both Maltese and English are accepted.
