STOPNIOWANIE PRZYMIOTNIKÓW W JĘZYKU ANGIELSKIM

1. Stopniujemy przymiotniki, czyli wyrazy, które opisują nam rzeczowniki lub osoby, np.
piękny dom - a beautiful house lub przystojny chłopak - a handsome boy.

2. Pierwszy stopień, czyli stopień równy zostaje bez zmian, czyli np. tall, short,
beautiful, old, noisy, small.

3. STOPIEŃ WYŻSZY – dodajemy końcówkę ER do przymiotników krótkich (1 lub 2

sylaby):
tall-taller noisy-noisier
short-shorter fast-faster
old-older cold-colder

ALE do długich przymiotników (3 lub więcej sylab) dodajemy MORE a przymiotnik

zostaje bez zmian:
beautiful-more beutiful
dangerous-more dangerous
interesting-more interesting
exciting-more exciting

Stopnia wyższego używamy do porównywania czegoś lub kogoś. W tym celu

używamy słowa THAN-niż, to takie słówko charakterystyczne tego stopnia, np. My
sister is taller than me.

4. STOPIEŃ NAJWYŻSZY - używamy, aby powiedzieć, że coś jest najlepsze,

najpiękniejsze ect. Ze wszystkiego. Do przymiotnika w formie podstawowej dodajemy
THE przed oraz końcówkę EST:
tall-teller-the tallest noisy-noisier-the noisiest
short-shorter-the shortest fast-faster-the fastest
old-older-the oldest cold-colder-the coldest

a do przymiotników długich THE MOST plus przymiotnik w podstawowej formie:

beautiful-more beautiful-the most beautiful

dangerous-more dangerous- the most dangerous
