For Kosovo Recognition

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

Affirming that as of 4 September 2020, 102 out of 193 UN member states have recognized
Kosovo as a sovereign state,

Recognizing that the declaration of independence of Kosovo on 17 February 2008 did not violate
international law as international law does not contain a prohibition on the declaration of
independence,

Aware of a European Union-mediated normalization agreement between Kosovo and Serbia in


February 2023 in which both agreed to dialogue in which Serbia committed to not opposing
Kosovo’s membership in international organizations and to recognize its national symbols and
official documents,

1. Calls for ongoing diplomatic efforts in order to ensure peaceful cooperation between
Serbia and Kosovo in order to reach a mutually beneficial solution to their issues;
2. Invites all member states to take into consideration as well as respect the principle of
non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states;
3. Reiterates how member states to consider recognition of Kosovo as an independent as
well as sovereign state, whilst taking into account regional stability.
4. Urges all UN member states to support ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring
peaceful cooperation between Serbia and Kosovo, with a focus on reaching a mutually
beneficial solution to their outstanding issues;
