Firm description

Abdnour Weiker, LLP [pronounced Ab-da-nor Why-kerr] is a boutique, dynamic, and

expanding law firm with offices in Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The firm was founded
by Liz Abdnour and Mark Weiker, after both operated separate students-rights focused
firms in Michigan and Ohio, respectively.

Our mission is to protect the rights and futures of students and educators. We practice
primarily in the following areas: K12 school law and student rights; Title IX investigations,
hearings, and litigation; special education law and disability rights; educator and school
employee representation; and college student rights, code of conduct, and academic
misconduct.

WE LISTEN FIRST: We start with client-directed representation, meaning that we start by

listening to our clients and learning about their goals. Listening always comes first. Only then
can we apply our knowledge and experience in navigating the legal system to get our clients
to their goals. This may seem simple – and it is. But it is not a given. Unfortunately, listening
to what the client really wants is often an overlooked step in law firms where billable hours,
egos, prestige, and profits rule.

WE LOVE WHAT WE DO: We also place a very high priority on loving what we do and
providing meaningful service to our clients. We understand that long term relationships and
excellent service can only be sustained when we are regularly rewarded by our work. We
only represent a client if we know we will be strong advocates for them. Period. We think
clients recognize this commitment in their interactions with us and see that it helps us enjoy
what we do – and get results.

Job description

We seek a law student to assist with document review, legal research and writing, and client
communication. We are looking for someone who can commit at least 10 hours per week.
