People called Barack Obama as ‘Barry’ when he was a

child. `Barry` was born on August 4th, 1961, in Honolulu,
the capital of Hawaii.His mother was from Kansas. His
father was from Kenya.

Barack Obama once lived in Indonesia for a few years.

They lived in Jakarta. At the age of ten, he moved back to
Hawaii to live with his grandparents. After high school,
Obama studied Political Sciences at Columbia University
and Law at Harvard University.

He was a Law Teacher at the University of Chicago from

1992 to 2004.

Obama met Michelle in Chicago. They got married in

1992. They have had two daughters: Malia and Natasha
(Sasha). In 2004, Obama became the Senator for the
State of Illinois, becoming known on the media. On
January 20 th, 2009, at the age of 47, Barack Obama
became the president of the United States.

It was a historic day because it was the first time an

African American has ever become the leader of the
United States. In 2012, Obama was re-elected for the
second time to be a president.
