That is used for pointing to a singular thing.


That is used for countable and uncountable noun.
That is for the thing that is far away.
Those are used for pointing to plural things.
Those are only used for countable noun.
Those are for the things that are far away.
Example:
That is a bird Those are not cars is that an apple?
That is water That is not a car Yes, that is an apple
Those are birds Those are dolls No, that is an orange
