Smart India Hackathon-2022

Smart India Hackathon-2022 is a nationwide initiative to provide students a


platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and
thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mind-set of problem solving.
The last edition of the hackathon-2021 saw a phenomenal response with over 5
lakh students from various colleges compete for the top prize.
SIH 2022 has been designed with an aim to bring the next generation into an
evolution by inclusion of new methodology to inculcate the culture of startup and
innovation ecosystem across different age groups.

SIH (2022) Process Flow


● SIH 2022 Software and Hardware edition: Problem statement submission
by Central and State Ministries, Departments, PSU’s, Industries and NGO’
and review of it.
● Registration of College SPOC’S in SIH portal by IIC (Institution’s
Innovation Council) Unit of BMSCE.
● A single round Hackathon was planned to be conducted in our college.
● The review selection of the top teams for both software and hardware was
done by an internal panel of esteemed professors.
● Team Leaders of the selected teams to be registered in SIH portal to submit
ideas through our college SPOC for the SIH2022 Finale.
● Evaluation of submitted ideas by the SIH unit.
● Result announcement.
● SIH Grand Finale of Software and Hardware.
Planning of Hackathon in our college
Our internal Hackathon organised in our institute was a single round event where
each team were to present the problem statement selected and solution for the
same through a PowerPoint presentation and prototypes. A total of 8 teams
including both software and hardware had participated and were screened.

Judging Criteria: The teams were judged differently based on their software and
hardware category. The clarity in explaining the problem statements was
checked. The judges for both the software and hardware category were the same.
Since all of them were really good, all 8 teams with 9 problem statements were
selected for SIH 2022.
