Ans) Human resource management is management of the employees to ensure that they work in
a safe and supportive environment. Human Resource not only refers to manpower, but it also
represents raw material, machinery ,power and etc .In simple words, we can say that Human
Resource is the education and training of staff to work in an organisation. For an organisation to
work efficent staff are needed, those staff are recruited by Human Resource.
Concept and Analysis
1. Analyzing Benefits
One of the most important tasks of HR is to recruit benefits specialists. They can help in
reducing costs, attribtion, hiring replacement workers. They are important to the
organization and helps in adjusting organization budgets. They are also familiar with
employee benefits and most likely to attract worker and retain them.
2. Minimizing Employee turnover
For every business to grow , employees are assets . To achieve the vision of the
organization we need old and experience staff who dedicate their vision towards the goal.
For Sundaram Ltd to grow it needs to have old and experienced staff, only then it can
expand its branches to other area.
3. Training and development
This is one of the most important in HR . For every new employee to grow, training of
the staff is needed so that it can develop in the organization. Overall quality ,improved
patient satisfaction could only be achieved by effective training and development
practices. Sundaram Ltd should provide training to new employee for improved practice
Assessing the Manpower requirements
Manpower is the most important while expanding business. Recruiting new employee is
quite critical .For Sundaram Ltd, to grow to expand its branches, Recruiting new
employee is the key, For example if any company want to expand 15 branch in all over
India, like supposedly a branch requires 30 employee to work in an branch. HR would
need to recruit about 450 people , so HR would need to interview about 600-700 peoples
for the right candidate.
Conclusion
On the basis of this knowledge, it is proven that human resources is the base of organization
growth . It can help the business to achieve its goals and objectives by optimzing resources.

Ans 2) HR advisor looks after the human resources in an company and make sure that labor
policies are implemented well. They are responsible for the hiring, benefit , and departure of
staffs. If FMCG company wants to improve human resource structure,then human resource
advisor is needed . If I have been assigned as an HR advisor in any FMCG company, then I
would suggest lot of activities to change the structure. Before suggesting any activities ,we need
to know the changing role of human resource in India .
Changing role of HR in India
HR ensures the success of the organization. They are responsible for staffing , Recuritement,
talent management program etc. They are the catalyst of the organization. Their main role is
achieving quality growth through Recruiting quality staff and training and developing them for
their work. Role of HR in Indian organization has sped up. They are considered as ,motivators
spoke persons .HR play a vital role in achieving fast pace of an organization.
Structure of Human resource department
Human resource Departement ensures proper utilisation of resources. For every organisation
employees are the biggest asset . All the new technology and programming are all under the
guidance of loyal and committed staff. So, we can say that human resource is the most important
resource in the organization.
Before finalizing the structure of HR department we need to rule out some points
 Addressing the critical issues first ,which may affect the business growth and planning
the HR structure accordingly.
 HR structure should be well defined and simple . Documenting all current HR process
and explaining them the tasks and responsibilities .
 Management must ensure the proper staffing needs.

HR department is the backbone of any company. HR team is responsible for employees payroll
management, It is also responsible for company’s payroll records ensuring that the employee
gets it right on time.

The HR department also deals with the benefits offered to the employees by the organization.
Some of these like health insurance ,dental coverage, retirement savings ,pension , disability etc.

responsible for providing benefits to employees like health insurance, PF, etc.
3. Staffing and Management
Staffing management is also one of the most important function of HR. Recuritement ,Selection
and Training fall under staffing and Management.
Examples These are basic activities under HR. Google follows 7 steps Recuritement process.
Promotion is based on the performance done by the employees.
Organisational development
HR also includes Organisational development under its activities. Of all the activities involved
some of the activities are as follows
 Talent management
 Employees assistance and referral
 Equal employment opportunity
Under this succession planning and reporting to Executive management also takes place.
Examples HR often engage in recreational activities to boost up the creativity, confidence in our
working. HR also starts cultural programs to help the employees participate.
Workplace safety
It is another concern for the department. HR ensures that the employees working are free of any
concerns. One of the duties is to implement and maintain progressive or preventative programs.
They are the face of the organization

planning is an technique used by human resources manager to prevent the proper flow of
employees so that situation like shortages and surplus shouldn’t happened.
Why it is required ?
It is required for every organization to balance the flow of employees so that company shouldn’t
face scarcity or excess of employees.
 An HR plans helps to manage and distribute employees over technological growth,
 Small firms grows at a rapid pace if a proper HR plan is to be made .as there is proper
work flow between the employees.
Steps under HR planning are as follows
1. Analysis of Organisational goals and Objectives
Before starting HR goal ,we need to start analyzing Organisational goals .After figuring out the
Organisational goals we can plan human resource as per need.
2. Environment
While formulating the HR plan, organization needs to look upon the business environment in
which working. It could be political ,social ,economical factor’s which influence the business.
3. Management of Manpower demand and supply
Supply and demand affect the Recuritement and staffing process. This is one of the most
important of the HRP process. It involves the balance of manpower ,demand and supply at an
equilibrium position. In case of shortages the HR personnel take various actions like hiring,
promotions and overtime to improve quality.
4. Establishing an Action plan
While preparing for an Action plan there are many variables which are to be considered.
After equalizing demand and supply, the next step to take is implementing the plan. The
HR plan need to have its organisational I goals and objectives for formulating the plan.

approximate number of quality individuals required.

It is the process of estimating the number of employees required. It depends on many factors like
comptetion,legal climate etc.
Oualtitative methods under Human Resource planning
Delphi technique
It is a way of estimating staffing needs. In this technique it collects staffing needs from group
like specialist, managers, and supervisors.
Ratio analysis
It is considered as one of the fastest forecasting technique. Here in this strategy previous ratios
are being studied between staff member and cash flow.
Managing director evaluation
Here in this strategy future meetings are being held with each other where supervisors and
managers discuss with each other and come up with a number that is the future labor demand.
Flow benchmark
These are also know as flow models. These are associated with staffing prediction .the only
model here is known an Markow model.
Conclusion
Of all the technique used .i would prefer Ratio and Analysis as it is fastest and the most efficient
methods used. It is a procedure of comparing with one with another. It is also used for advising
monetary statement between 2 fields
