Why did Gulliver become ill and tired?
Gulliver became ill and tired because of the exhausting life was beginning to have a bad
effect on his health. He was becoming thinner and thinner.

What was Gulliver’s attitude when he saw the Queen for the first time?
Gulliver fell on his knees and begged to be allowed to kiss the Queen’s foot

Why was the farmer so willing to sell Gulliver to the Queen?


The farmer was so willing to sell Gulliver to the Queen because he felt sure Gulliver
would not live longer than a month.

Yes, he was a greedy man, because he made a fortune by showing Gulliver to people all
over the country. He used Gulliver as an easy way of making money for himself. He
made Gulliver worked so hard that he felt tired and ill. He sold Gulliver to the Queen
because he thought that Gulliver was going to die.

How did Gulliver feel towards the farmer and towards his daughter?
Gulliver knew that his master had used him as an easy way of making money for himself.

the Queen only because he thinks that Gulliver was going to die That’s why Gulliver

The King sent for three of his professors to discover what kind of animal Gulliver was.
They decided that Gulliver was a creature outside the laws of nature. He was much too
small to climb their trees, or dig their fields, or kill and eat their animals. They could not
understand where he had come from, or how he could possibly survive.

The King was intelligent and after speaking to Glumdalclitch and questioning Gulliver
again, he realized that Gulliver’s story must be true

table, and a lock for the door, so that no rats could get in

How did Gulliver feel when he realized that the king was laughing at his own country?
What did he do?
Gulliver could not believe what he was hearing. The King was laughing at his country, a
country famous for its beautiful cities and palaces, its great kings and queens, its brave
and honest people. There was nothing Gulliver could do about it and he simply had to
accept the situation.

What was the worst problem for Gulliver at the palace? Why?
The worst problem Gulliver had at the palace was the Queen’s dwarf Until Gulliver
arrived, the dwarf had always been the smallest person in the country (he was about ten
meters tall). As Gulliver was much smaller than him, the dwarf was very rude to Gulliver
and behaved very badly, especially when nobody was looking.

What did the dwarf do with Gulliver to amuse the Queen?


First time the dwarf took a large bone from the table and stood it in the Queen’s plate.
Then he took Gulliver in both hands and pushed his legs into the top of the bone.
Gulliver could not pull himself out and had to stay there, feeling and looking extremely
stupid. Second time the dwarf used to catch some big insects in his hands, and then left
them out suddenly under Gulliver’s nose. The dwarf did this both to frighten Gulliver
and amuse the Queen.
How did Gulliver defend himself against insects?
Gulliver had to use knife to cut the insects to pieces as they flew around him.

Why was the dwarf punished and sent away from the palace?
The dwarf was sent away from the palace as a punishment because the dwarf picked
Gulliver up and dropped him quickly into a bowl of milk on the table. Luckily, Gulliver
was a good swimmer, so he managed to keep his head out of the milk. Glumdalclitch
was the one who rescued Gulliver.

How did Gulliver describe Brobdingnag?


Brobdingnag was quite large country, joined on to north-west America, but separated
from the rest of America by high mountains. It was about then thousand kilometers long
and from five to eight thousand wide. The sea around it was so rough and there were so
many rocks in the water that no large ships could land on any of the beaches. There
were fifty one cities and a large number of towns and villages. The capital stood on both
sides of a river, and had more than eighty thousand houses. It covered three hundred
and forty square kilometers. The King’s palace covered about eleven square kilometers:
the main rooms were eighty meters high. The palace kitchen was huge.

Did the people of Brobdingnag have visitors from the other parts of the world? Why?
The people of Brobdingnag didn’t normally had visitors from other parts of the world
because The sea around it was so rough and there were so many rocks in the water that
no large ships could land on any of the beaches.
