Cách dùng các đại từ quan hệ: (Relative Pronouns)

1. Noun (người) + who + V..
Eg: The girl who talked to you yesterday is my cousin.
2. Noun (người) + whom + S + V..
Eg: I’m talking to the woman whom you saw on TV last night.
3. Noun (vật) + which ...
Eg: Do you like the book which I lent you?
4. Noun 1 whose + Noun 2 (N2 của N1, whose thay thế tính từ sở hữu: his, her, my, …)
Eg: The girl whose parents died in the accident was homeless.
5. Noun (người/vật) + that
+ That thay thế cho who, whom, which trong mệnh đề ko giới hạn (không có dấu phẩy).
+ Không được dùng that sau dấu phẩy và sau giới từ (sau giới từ dùng whom hoặc which)
+ Bắt buộc dùng that:
 Sau so sánh nhất: Eg: the tallest boy that.... , the most popular language that....
 Sau đại từ không xác định : no - , some - , every - , any - + one / thing / body + that
 Sau chủ ngữ hổn hợp (người và vật) Eg : The man and his dog that ……
 Trong câu chẻ : It is / was noun / pronoun who / that . .. (It is Mary that I admire … )
 Sau only / the first / the last + N Eg : The first thing that I do is …
