How significant was the invasion of the Ruhr as a cause of instability in

Weimar Germany to 1923?
Explain your answer.
On January 11, 1923, French and Belgian troops occupied the Ruhr Basin as
punishment for Germany's breach of debts incurred for its participation in
World War I.
This brought many consequences such as great political and social instability,
in which military and right-wing coups took place, revolutionary attempts by
the left and strong economic crises.
the occupation led to increased sympathy for Germany, although no action
was taken by the League of Nations, as the occupation was legal as signed in
the Treaty of Versailles.
