A Warm Welcome
The Hazelwood Academy is a co-educational day school for children between
the ages of 24 months and 15 years and is an off shoot of the Cradle School
Kaduna, which has been in operation for over 10 years.

The Hazelwood Academy was established in August 2018 as a result of a

burning passion to provide children with foundational skills to help them to
attain excellence in the academic and social aspects of their development.

Our rich curriculum and the excellent academic performance of our students
over the years has made our school to become one of the most sought-
after schools in Abuja and all over Kaduna.

We at Hazelwood are aware of how both boys and girls develop and learn. As a
result, we employ a blended curriculum that facilitates learning for our pupils.
Additionally, our instructors are certified, and our classes are furnished with
cutting-edge educational tools. While we appreciate Nigerian culture and
values, we also educate our pupils to become global citizens.
Our Director said, ‘...children are blank sheets that God has given us the

Academic Programs
Early Learners (Foundation Stage)
Hazelwood Early Years is a happy and fun place for our very youngest learners.
Children from ages 24 months to 3 years are nurtured within a safe and secure
environment. This foundation stage has 3 classes; Pre-Nursery, Nursery 1,
Reception Class. Pupils are encouraged to learn via prompting, audio-visual
media, role-play and many other presentations at the foundation stage

Primary School
The Primary formative years are set to secure a level of functionality and
effectiveness in the core skills which include: mental arithmetic, geometry,
reading, oral and written communication. The school provides learners aged 4
– 11 (Primary 1 – 6) with the opportunity to develop a life-long love of learning.
Children benefit from small class sizes and an enquiry-based curriculum. We
offer a first-class educational experience. We set out to produce a total child
who is educationally sound and morally upright.

College
In our college section, the scope of the curriculum widens to include a broader
subject base all in accordance to the directives of the Ministry of Education in
Nigeria. Our aim is to equip our students with the right set of skills and work
ethic to achieve excellent results in any external examination. Our aim is to
raise role models through a holistic education programme that benchmarks
best delivery practices while being socially responsible.

prepared for higher education.
Admission into 2023/24 Academic Session is Ongoing. Admission is
offered upon success at the entrance examination.
THE ENTRY PROCEDURE.
1. Parents who are interested in their children attending Hazelwood
Academy can collect an application pack from the Head of
Administrations Office and the details of the Tuition fees.

2. The following supporting documents are required.

• Birth Certificate or current International Passport.
• Up-to-date immunization Certificate
• Latest report from current school or last attended school
• 2 Recent colored passport photographs of prospective child
• 1 passport photograph each of both parents/ guardian as the case
may be.

3. All forms must be filled and returned to the school with an application
fee of five thousand Naira which is non-refundable.

4. An Assessment and Placement test will be conducted for the prospective

child. This is applicable to intake for nursery one and above. This
assessment is to ascertain that the child is ready for the class to which
admission is being sought.

In the event that the assessment shows that the child falls below the
benchmark for the class sought, the head teacher then recommends an
appropriate class for the child. This to ensure a sound academic foundation for
the child regardless of the age.
