Academic Year 2022-23

Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year at Lahore Grammar School Peshawar. We are
very excited as we head into a new school year in the Elementary School section.
The last two years were very different from the school years any of us have
experienced. We are looking forward to returning with normalcy and delving into
an invigorating academic year. As we plan for the new session, our focus, as
always, will be to ensure that every student feels connected and cared for in our
community, and is being challenged by engaging learning experiences.
Students and parents will notice an important distinction as we return to school for
the new academic year. At Lahore Grammar School Peshawar, we are proactively
planning, training, and engaging our teachers to adapt in a continually shifting
educational landscape. Our classes, no matter the format, will embody the central
tenets of 21st century learning. Students will take ownership of their learning,
reflect upon their learning, independently and collaboratively, while being
appropriately challenged through our curriculum framework.
At LGS Peshawar, we continue to emphasize on discipline, punctuality, personal
grooming, school attendance, commitment, and mutual respect. Due to the current
Covid situation prevailing in the country, we would advise parents and students to
remain masked in public spaces as being safe is an individual responsibility.
Classes begin on Thursday 1st September 2022. Timetable for on campus classes has
been included in this orientation pack.

We hope this year brings myriad opportunities, initiatives, innovative practices and
great learning experiences that prove to be a treasure trove of memories for our
learning community. We eagerly await to welcome our students back on campus for
an exciting year ahead.

School Policies

LGS Discipline Policy for Students

Lahore Grammar School follows a policy of positive discipline. The facets of
positive discipline are: cooperation; mutual respect; kindness and firmness;
offering choices and involving students in the decision-making process; valuing
people as they are while helping them develop the skills and attitudes that facilitate
improvement.
The vast majority of our students are well-behaved, polite and co-operative. These
positive behaviors are reinforced through various classroom and school wide
programs. Students are encouraged in their positive behavior and are given
opportunities to exercise greater personal and social responsibility, independence,
cooperation and good judgment. Our discipline policy has made room for civic
literacy as well. We encourage students to develop a strong commitment to lifelong
involvement in their communities and actively pursue agendas which lead to a
strong social fabric. Our students learn that citizenship in not a solitary business
but a shared enterprise and often contentious.
We present opportunities for students to examine the citizenship qualities of a wide
range of people. Our students determine what concerns they feel are important as
they gain a sense for the dynamic interplay of people’s individual needs in the
community. We enable students to examine their inherited attitudes and values, to
choose between alternate behaviors and to build skills in addressing community
issues.
General Procedures:
Students who have difficulty in following school rules are offered support in a
variety of ways. Support is given using the following strategies.

All students who are involved in a discipline concern will be offered due process.
Due process will include the student to be treated with fairness and respect, to be
given an opportunity to share his side of the situation; and to be assigned
consequences in a reasonable and impartial manner.
In the school, the students will be given the opportunity to reflect on their
misbehavior, to assume personal responsibility and their part in a situation, to
brainstorm and rehearse alternate methods of handling the situation, and to make
amendments which will be practical, in an appropriate manner.
Students are expected to:
