It is my great honor to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Vincent Scolari. Vincent is a senior, at
Buckingham Collegiate Charter Academy in Vacaville, California. Vincent is an incredibly hard working, diligent
student with integrity and a huge heart. His willingness and ability to help others are just introductions to his
leadership both in the classroom and community.

BCCA is a college preparation school with a primary focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and
Math) excellence. Vincent has excelled in each of these areas. As the Engineering Instructor at BCCA, I have
been able to create a program that is project based, but requires college level problem solving and math concepts.
I was fortunate enough to begin working with Vincent in his Sophmore year in Physics and Engineering. In this
course, Vincent learned to apply problem solving techniques, developed the fundamentals for challenging and
complex projects, excelled at designing & programming VEX Robotics, building and testing trusses and creating
circuit systems. Each of these projects also involved college level calculations, less the higher calculus. In
Vincent’s junior year, he completed the CTE Engineering pathway in Advanced Engineering. This course focuses
on atmospheric and space flight and is the capstone course in the pathway. Vincent was able to independently
research, build and fly his own r/c aircraft and apply his prior courses to conquer any obstacles. He mastered fluid
& thermodynamics, flights dynamics, orbital mechanics and rocket calculations.

Outside of the classroom, Vincent competes in Varsity Cross Country and Track. He enjoys creating things,
hands-on projects and all sports. Vincent is adventurous and curious and loves trying new things. He excels at all
his endeavors.

Vincent Scolari is soft spoken but incredibly compassionate and kind. Please strongly consider this fine young
man’s application for admittance to your institution. He has been an exceptional asset to the Engineering Program
and contributing member of our school community. I believe, he will be exceptional at your institution and will
