Pre-marital sex : Pre-marital Sexual Behavior in Students Dating

Students are often sexually active. Young people who have permissive attitudes toward premarital
sexual activity are more likely to engage in premarital sexual behaviors more frequently and have more
sexual partners. Subject research thought that dating was a process to make relationship to be more
seriously to find a life couple. Subjects said that they usually discussed about anything to their couple
including about sexuality cases

There are some reasons contribute to premarital sexual behavior as follows; Women are conducted
sexual activities to their dating couple, because the reason to keep their couples loyal to their relationship,
for them virginity was meaningless and a myth or virginity had no meaning or value, most of young
women who had premarital sexual experiences believe that sexuality was a normal thing and it became a
need and most of the students said that choosing premarital sexual relationship is a human right and it
cannot be denied, students conduct premarital sexual activities are one of invitation form that from their
close friend and do the free sex, almost studies found that Some participants believed that premarital
sexual relationships could be a way to reach perfection, relaxation and increased self-confidence, and
sexual experiences happened intentionally through in some stages and there was sexual desire that
getting increase on the couple dating.

The research indicates 7 themes concerning premarital sexual behavior: love, disregard for virginity,
considering pre-marital sex as normal, or a human right and sign of maturity, peer pressure, supporting a
successful marriage, innate instinct. However, pre-marital sexual behavior can increase the risk of HIV
and other sexual diseases. Hence, it is important for health workers to actively educate adolescents about
reproductive health and pre-marital sex.

Reason:
Pre-marital sex issue is about sexual activity that has been done usually by teenagers/adolescents.
Being teenager, I want to promote healthy sexual behaviors and in order to do this things. Of course we
need to have a knowledge about the reasons why teenagers choose to practice this kind of sexual activity
so we can implement solutions to resolve this issue and inform them what are the consequences of this
activity.

Advantages of Pre-marital Sex
1. Sexual experience: You can experience a sexual relationship during premarital sex. Your
awareness of how and what you prefer in bed will increase. Before getting married, having sex
might help you open up and stop you from feeling lost. Additionally, it boosts self-confidence.
2. Sexual compatibility: Prior to getting married, it is preferable to ascertain sexual compatibility.
Before getting married, you will know if you’re compatible with that person or not..
3. Sexual problems: Pre-marital sex will help a person to recognize sexual problems.
4. Stress levels: Sex reduces stress. Premarital sex helps in managing the stress that arises from
arguments in relationships.

Disadvantages of Pre-marital Sex

1. Interest: After having sex, many men or even women seem to lose interest that’s why they
become comfortable to the point that nothing new is left to explore after marriage.
2. Pregnancy: One of the main disadvantage of pre-marital sex is pregnancy. There is always a
chance that you can get pregnant.
3. Sexually Transmitted Diseases: The primary disadvantage of pre-marital sex is sexually
transmitted diseases (STDs). One major contributor to STDs is multiple partners.
4. Guilt Feeling: A lot of people tend to regret having a sexual relationship before getting married. If
they come from a traditional family, some individuals do view it as a sin.

Prevention
Pre-marital sex can be prevented by seeking wise companions or choosing the right kind of
friends can influence you in a positive way, protecting your mind, yourself and your health, and
unify your heart by saving yourself from the consequences you can get in doing this issue.
