This study aimed to identify the secondary metabolites in ethyl acetate extracts of belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) leaves and determine their antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The ethyl acetate extract contained alkaloids, steroids, and tannins. Testing found the extract had very low antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 547.56 ± 0.0196 ppm, while vitamin C had much higher activity with an IC50 of 2.33 ± 0.1786 ppm, indicating the extract had significantly lower antioxidant effects than vitamin C.

Ethyl Acetate Extract of Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) Leaf with DPPH Method (supervised by Drs. Haeruddin, M.Si. and Wa Ode Mulyana, S.Si., M.Sc.)
A study on "Phytochemical Tests and Antioxidant Activity of Belimbing
Wuluh Ethyl Acetate Extract (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) Using the DPPH Method" was carried out with the aim of knowing the types of secondary metabolites identified in the ethyl acetate extract of Belimbing Wuluh leaves and to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethyl acetate extract of Belimbing Wuluh leaves. starfruit. 250 grams of belimbing wuluh leaves were macerated with technical ethyl acetate solvent and a thick 12.62% ethyl acetate extract was obtained. To determine the group of secondary metabolites, the phytochemical method was used and the antioxidant activity was determined by the DPPH and DPPH methods. The ethyl acetate extract of belimbing wuluh leaves is known to contain alkaloids, steroids, tannins and has very low antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 547.56 ± 0.0196 ppm, while vitamin C has a very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 2.33 ± 0. 1786 ppm. Based on the two IC50 results between ethyl acetate extract of starfruit leaves and vitamin C, we can see that the ethyl acetate extract of starfruit leaves has antioxidant activity which is much lower than the antioxidant activity of vitamin C.
