Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant activities of the aqueous (CFA) and methanolic extracts
(CFM) of the Cassia fistula Linn. bark were assayed in wistar albino rats. The extracts were
found to posses significant anti-inflammatory effect in both acute and chronic models. Cassia
fistula bark extracts showed significant radical scavenging by inhibiting lipid peroxidation
initiated by CCl4 and FeSO4 in rat liver and kidney homogenates. Both extracts exhibited
significant antioxidant activity in DPPH, Nitric oxide and Hydroxyl radical induced invitro
assay methods. Both extracts showed Dose-Dependent protective effect against lipid
peroxidation and free radical generation in liver and kidney homogenates. Further, the acute
toxicity study with the extracts showed no sign of toxicity up to a dose level of 2000 mg/ po.
Thus it could be concluded that cassia fistula bark extracts (CFA & CFM) possess significant
antiinflammatory and anti oxidant properties.

Piper betle L. become one of plants often found in the yard of house because it can be easily
cultivated. In this study, the antifungal effect of crude extract of Piper betle L. leaves was
investigated. The research was initiated by extracting the powdered material with n-hexane,
ethyl acetate and methanol. Phytochemical screening on crude extracts was conducted to
exploring chemical constituens of the leaves extract. Antifungal activity test indicated that
ethyl acetate extract was more active than two other extract. The ethyl actetae extract was
then subjected to contact bioautography. The investigation was further carried out to
determine minimal inhibitory concentration of the most potential extract.

Penelitian yang mempelajari pengaruh penambahan pektin kulit jeruk bali terhadap sifat
mekanik dan biodegradasi bioplastik pati garut terplastisasi gliserol pada media tanah telah
dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana pengaruh penambahan pektin
kulit jeruk bali pada sifat mekaniknya meliputi ketebalan, kuat tarik, elongasi, dan modulus
young. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana pengaruh penambahan
pektin kulit jeruk bali pada biodegradabilitas bioplastik pati garut pada media tanah. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pektin jeruk bali dapat menaikkan nilai
ketebalan, menurunkan nilai kuat tarik, menaikkan nilai elongasi, dan menurunkan modulus
young. Uji biodegradasi bioplastik pada media tanah menunjukkan adanya penurunan pada
parameter bentuk, tekstur, dan warna. Secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa
penambahan pektin kulit jeruk bali berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sifat mekanik dan
biodegradasi bioplastik pati garut terplastisasi gliserol
