Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about your family:

-Tell me about your family?

-Where do you live?

-What do you like doing when you are with your family?

My family has 4 members: my parents, my younger brother and me. My

parents are workers. They work in the factory from 7am to 5pm. My brother
is a secondary school student. We live in a small house in Son La city. When
I am with my family, I often tell my parents interesting stories, help my
brother with his homework, cook and eat together.

Part 2: Solution discussion

You are going to celebrate your birthday. Where are you going to
organize the party: at home, in a restaurant or in a park ? Why?.

If I have a birthday party, I will choose to have it at home. There are 2

reasons why I do this. Firstly, I want to reunite (rui yu nít) with my family
after studying away from home. I love the coziness of a family party.
Second, it's cheaper than a restaurant party. I can cook a simple meal, eat and
chat with all the family members.

Part 3: Topic
You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic The most important
inventions.

Your talk should focus on:

- What the most important inventions are.

- Which has changed the world most.
- What benefits we can get from these inventions.

In my opinion, the most important invention is the internet. It has changed

much of our(ao ờ) world. Firstly, the internet plays an important role in
expanding our knowledge (no lệt). This is a source (sột) of information that
can help people know more about the world. Second, the internet is a form of
investment. People use to enrich(in richs) our lives. We can listen to music,
play games or watch movies without going out. Finally, the Internet is a
method (me thột) of communication. With the Internet, we send and receive
(re xi) information quickly and easily. For example, now, the internet
contributes(con tri biu) significantly (sịc nét phi cần lỳ) to human activities
during pandemic times.

Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about your reading habit.

-What do you like to read the best?

- Do you often read newspaper?

- Why do you like to read?

I usually read books before going to bed. The type (taip) of books that I like
to read are detective novels. In particular (pa ti kiu lờ), I love the Sherlock
Holme Series. It got me hooked (húc cờ) on Holme's compelling (com pe
ling) storyline, sharp observations (óp sơ vây sừn) and deductions (đi đắc
sừn). Some times, I also read newspapers and magazines. It helps me grasp
domestic (đơm mét tíc) and foreign (pho rền) information, expand (ích pan)
my knowledge.

Part 2: Solution discussion

You are making plan for your holiday. Where do you prefer to go: To the
beach, to the mountain or to a foreign country? Why?

If I have a vacation, I will spend it to go to the beach. I think, it's a great

place to, take a break from studying. I like water sports like swimming,
surfing…so going to the beach is a great choice. There are many delicious
seafood such as shrimp (suyn) and crab (cáp). Beautiful places help me take
many memorable photos. It will be a great vacation for me because I will
enjoy this vacation with my family.

Part 3: Topic
You will be given 3 minutes to talk about the topic Watching films.

You should include the following ideas in your talk:

- Whether you prefer seeing films on TV or DVD, or in the cinema

- Whether you prefer seeing foreign films dubbed or with subtitles
- Whether you prefer Vietnamese films or American films.

On weekends I usually watch movies. I love watching movies on my phone

because I can watch any movie I want at any time. However, this is also not
good for my eyes since my phone is small. For foreign (pho rừn) films, I
prefer to watch with subtitles because the voices of the actors (ách chờ) are
presented ( pơ xen đừn) naturally. More over, it also helps me improve (im
pờ ru) my English listening. To me, Vietnamese movies and American
movies are both attractive. Vietnamese films depict emotions that are honest,
simple and close to themselves (dâm sèo). American movies have techniques
(tác nít) to attract viewers.

Test number: 03
Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about your study:

- what are you studying?

- What do you like about your studying?

- What do you like about learning English?

I am taking an online basic English program due to the covid-19 pandemic.

The curriculum (cơ rếch cừu rừm) includes 12 lessons on different topics that
help me expand (ích pan) my knowledge in many fields (phiêu ờ). I can
practice grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in the
process. My teacher is Ms. Huyen. She taught (thọt) me how to study and do
homework effectively (ơ phéch típ ly). During my studies, I practiced a lot in
writing and pronunciation. It is very useful for me. Learning English is very
interesting.
Part 2: Solution discussion

You have to make decision of the university you are going to apply.
There are 3 groups of people: Family, teachers and friends . Who do you
think you could get the best advices? Why?

When I had to make a decision about which university I would apply (áp lai)
to, I thought I would get the best advice from my teachers. The teachers have
a lot of knowledge and experience (ích pi ri ừn) in advising (ẹt vai sing) on
choosing (chu sing) a university from previous courses ( pờ ri vi , coi sìn).
During the teaching process, the teachers clearly understood our abilities (ơ
bi li tì) and gave us some useful advice.

Part 3:Topic
You will have 3 minutes to talk about the topic A person you admire.

Your talk should focus on:

- His/her profile
- The reason why you admire him/her
- His/her impact on you.

The person I admire is my mother. She is 45 years old and is working as a

worker in a factory. She was always with me and never turned her back on
me. She taught me the basic values of life, and she put a lot of effort (e phợt)
into teaching me to distinguish (đít sinh lịt) right from wrong. When I was
little, she helped me in every way she could, when I was a little older she
showed me ways to choose. She put me on the right path so that I could shine
in my personal and caring life. She never forced (phột) me to do something
or do what she was wiser (goai rờ) about. Mom always shows me the way
and helps me decide the right path. I love her and wish her good health.

Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about sport.

- Do you play any sport?

- What are the most popular sport in your country?

- Is it better to play sport or to watch TV? Why?

My favorite sport is badminton. I usually play at least once or twice a week.

There are reasons why I like it. First, I can improve my health by playing it.
It makes me feel full of energy. Second, I can make many friends when I
play Bat min ton. We can improve our skills through discussion. In addition,
we can talk about many interesting things when we take a break.

Part 2: Solution discussion

Your friend is visiting Hanoi. You are going to take him or her around
Hanoi. Which means of transport do you choose; motorbike, bus or car?
Why?

If my friend is visiting Hanoi, I will take her around by bus. There are many
advantages to traveling by bus. There is a bus route (rút) that is used to visit
famous places in Hanoi. We don't need a point-by-point plan, just get on the
bus! Moreover, the cost of traveling by bus is cheaper than other means of
transport and reduces (ri điu sợt) traffic accidents.

Part 3: Topic

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Reading books.

You should say:

- The advantages of reading books

- The disadvantages of reading books
- Your reading habits.

Reading is my favorite activity in my free time and it has many benefits.

Firstly, books are a huge source (hiu đờ sột) of information, so reading gives
us new knowledge. Books have many types, suitable for all ages and meet
knowledge needs. For example, science (sai ừn) books provide knowledge in
the field of science, novels with information of cultures, etc. Second, reading
books improves our memory and concentration. While reading, we tend to
stop and think about a problem or a story in the book, which leads to
focusing and remembering what we read. Another advantage is that reading
helps us relax and de-stress. Our bodies can rest and we don't have to worry
at all when we focus on reading. In short, books play an important role in our
lives and if you want to achieve ( ơ chịp) success, you should read a lot.

Test number: 05
Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about your name.

- What is the meaning of your given name?

- Does your name affect your personality?

- Who can give children’s name in your country?.

My name is Hoai. Many people will want to know about my name meaning
so today I will explain about naming in my country. My name, like everyone
else, was given to my parents by our grandparents. This can be considered a
tradition. In the past, people chose bad names for their children with the
concept of perishable, today they choose names with good meanings to give
hope to their children. My name is the wish of my parents, they want their
child to become a talented person in the future, a person with ambitions and
dreams of their own. I love my name very much and am very grateful to my
parents.

Part 2: Solution discussion

You are making an advertisement of a competition. There are three

groups of advertising methods: Poster, video clip and brochure. Which one
do you choose ?/ why?

If I were to advertise (ét vơ thai) a contest, I would choose a video clip to do

it. A short video can convey (cơn vây) all the content of the contest. Contest
activities will be synthesized (xin tờ sài) and arranged ( ơ rên) in a reasonable
order. Attractive visuals will attract the interest of many audiences ( o đi ừn
sẹt)

Part 3: Topic

You will talk in 3 minutes about the topic Sports.

- Kinds of sports you know

- Popular sport(s) for Vietnamese youth. (Why is it/are they

popular?)

- Advantages of playing sport.

Playing sports is essential (ẹt sen chồ) for us to stay healthy. When playing
sports, the body will burn calories and excrete fat. Exercise will help blood
( bờ lọt) circulate ( sơ cìu lì) more easily, increase (in cờ ri) the amount of
oxygen circulating outside the body. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain
physical exercise to keep the body healthy and comfortable. Sports help us
build muscles ( mát sồ) and strengthen our bones because it requires ( ri
quoai) a lot of physical activity. Playing sports acts as a great mood booster.
When we play certain sports, our brain is stimulated (sim miu lết đựt ) to
produce a natural chemical that gives us a feeling of happiness and
contentment. In short, playing sports is very good for our body

Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about your hometown.

- What part of your country do you come from?

- What’s the weather like in your hometown?

- Can you describe your hometown?

I was born in Son La city. Currently I am studying and living in Hanoi. My

hometown is about 300km from Hanoi, compared to here, my hometown has
a cooler atmosphere because it is surrounded by mountains and hills. I love
this because I don't have to worry about changing too many clothes in the
same day. Now it is developing very quickly. Every time I go back to my
hometown I see that change most clearly. People can come here to travel
because there are so many beautiful places and delicious food. People here
are very friendly and hospitable.
Part 2: Solution discussion

A friend is going to take a summer job where she can meet new people.
a volunteer nurse, a tour guide and a sale employee at bakery. Which one
would be the best choice? Why?

If my friend went to work in the summer, I think she would work as a

salesperson at a bakery (bếch cờ rì). Because she loves cakes and she has a
hobby of baking. Maybe she'll learn how to make some cakes. And working
here also helps her earn a small amount ( ơ mao tờ) of income. I think as a
salesperson at a bakery, I can satisfy (sa sờ đờ phai) my passion.
Part 3: Topic
You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Factors that make people
happy.
-What factors that make people happy
- What factor is the most important one
- When is the happiest time of person’s life (when we are young or old?).

In my opinion, personal health, good relationships with family and friends,

having a good job and having enough money to live comfortably are the
things that make people happy.

In the beginning, good health is the foundation of a happy life. With good
health, you can do the things you love and enjoy life to the fullest.

Second, good relations with family and friends. It is indispensable ( in đờ pen

sơ bồ) in our lives. When we have good relationships with family and
friends, we receive the most sincere (xin sia) care and advice when we need
it.

The third is to have a good job and enough money to live comfortably. When
we have a stable (sếp bồ ) income, our lives will improve, become full and
convenient (cơn vi ni ừn) . It will help us satisfy ( sa sờ đờ phai) our passions
and contribute (cơn trít bìu) to building society.
In short, I think good health is the most important. it is the foundation of it
all. Whether you are young or old, having good health always makes you
happy.

Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about shopping.

- How often do you go shopping?

- Do you prefer to go shopping alone? Why?/ Why not?.

- What do you find annoying about shopping? Why?.

I don't go shopping often. About once or twice a month maybe not. When I
go shopping, I like to go alone, because I feel more comfortable. I can walk
around for hours in the shops without having to wait or lose the time of
several ( xe vờ rồ) stores. Comparing the quality and price of products is time
consuming and tiring. Event so, I still love to go shopping because it helps
me relieve stress.
Part 2: Solution discussion

You have an evening free and you intend to watch a film. Where do you
prefer to watch ; .at home, at the cinema or at your friend’s house? Why?
If I have a free evening, I like to watch movies at home. It's cheaper than
watching at the cinema. Watching movies at home is more comfortable. I can
laugh (láp) when the situation (sít tua ây sừn) is interesting, not restrained
like when watching the filem at the cinema.
Part 3: Topic
You will be given 3 minutes to talk about the topic The Internet.

You should include the following ideas in your talk:

- What has changed because of the Internet

- What will happen with the Internet
- What you would do with the Internet.

The Internet has changed our will a lot. The internet plays an important role
in expanding our understanding. It is a source of information that can help
people understand more about the world. The Internet is a kind of medium
that people use to enrich our lives. We can listen to music, play games, watch
movies, ... without going out. The Internet is a useful tool for learning and
working. We don't have to go to offices and schools to study and work. Now,
we can do it all with just a laptop or phone with an internet connection.
Finally, the internet is a medium that helps us communicate and make
friends. Thanks to social media and websites, we have made many friends
everywhere. This is also a place to share our memories.

Let’s talk about your hobbies.

-Tell me about any hobbies you have now or had in the past.

-Do you feel you have enough free time for hobbies? Why? / Why not?

-If you had a chance to take up a new hobby, what would it be? Why?

My hobby is reading books. I started this hobby when I was 15 years old. I
usually read books whenever and wherever I can. I read newspapers,
magazines, novels, ... and I have a passion for detective novels. Reading is a
hobby with many benefits. Books help me expand my knowledge about the
world and change my negative emotions.

I absolutely ( áp sâu lớt lì) have enough time to do my hobby. Reading

doesn't take up as much space as playing sports, and I can read the books I
want through my phone. In the future, I don't want to change my hobby
because reading not only provides (pờ rô vai) knowledge, but it also trains
me in many virtues (vờ chụt) such as perseverance (pơ sờ vi rừn).
Part 2: Solution discussion
Your friend is going to England for a year and you want to buy her a
present. Three items are suggested: a camera, an English grammar book and
a sweater. Which one would be the best choice? And why?

If my friends come to England for a year, I will give her a camera. I wanted
her to capture (cáp chờ) her happy moments during her travels and when she
returned she could tell me about the trip and show me her photos.
Part 3: Topic
You will have 3 minutes to talk about the topic The wonders of modern
world in the family.
Your talk should focus on:
- What is the wonder of the world in the your family (for example the
equipment in the kitchen)

- What’s good about it.

- What troubles it brings about.

The wonders of the modern world in my home are TVs, computers, cell
phone washing machines, and others. Now our house is equipped (ơ quích)
with more modern appliances (ép pờ lai sừn sẹt) to save time and effort (e
phợt)
With modern tools, entertainment and work will be more conventional. We
can watch game shows, news, ... On phones, TVs with internet

Thanks to modern appliances (ép pờ lai sừn sẹt), cooking becomes simple.
The rice cooker… helps to shorten the cooking time. Refrigerator (de phích
chờ rây tờ) helps preserve (pơ rợp) food longer.

The use of modern devices also has a negative side. We can become
dependent on these devices. If we use a lot of mobile phones, it can interfere
with our communication.

In conclusion, modern devices have a significant (sịc nét phi cèn) impact on
our lifestyle.

Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about your friends.

- How important is friendship to you?

- Do you have friends who live in other countries?

- What kind of things do you like to do when you get together with your
friends?.
friendship to me is very important and the thing i value most in my life. We
play together, share happy and sad stories. Always together in the most
important times. I don't have too many friends, everyone is always quite
close to each other even though they go to a different university, but they are
always attentive to each other. when we're close together we go shopping,
hang out, sing and do all kinds of things together. I am happy have a close all
my friends, thank you everyone for appearing in my life and I hope we will
be as close forever.

Part 2: Solution discussion

A group of friends are going to celebrate the end of exams. Three

locations are suggested: a pool, a party club and a restaurant . Which place
would be the best choice? Why?

I think the best place to celebrate the end of the exam is the restaurant. With
a moderate cost, we can have all the dishes that everyone likes without
having to clean up after eating. This saves a lot of time and works for
everyone. The space of the restaurant is also a point worth saving memories.
We can take pictures together before eating. At the party, everyone eats and
drinks together and reviews the past memories.

Part 3: Topic
You will talk in 3 minutes about the topic Describe the best day in your life.
Ideally, your talk should focus on the hints below:

-What happened on that day

-How it changed your life
-How you felt about that.

The best day of my life was the day I received the news that I had accepted to
university. It was a very wonderful day. After many days of anxiously
waiting for the results (ri sợt), I finally got the results I deserved (đi dợp).
That marked an important step in my life. It opened a new portal to my
learning process. It will provide me with specialized (sờ pách sồ lài)
knowledge, helping me to gain experience. This is the baggage (bagij) that
will help me get a good job in the future.

Test number: 10
Part 1: Social Interaction

Let’s talk about the food.

- What kind of food do you like? Why?

- What kind of thing you don’t like to eat? Why not?

- Do you like cooking? Why?/ Why not?.

I like sweets like cakes, ice cream, etc. They give me a sense of pleasure
when I eat them. Sometimes they even help me relieve (ri lì) stress and
overcome sadness. But eating a lot of sweets will cause toothache and
accumulate ( éch ciu mu lệt) a lot of fat in the body. And the kind of food
that I don't like are fish dishes. I find it quite fishy and easy to choke (chốc).
So I don't eat fish.

Part 2: Solution discussion

You are going to have a picnic with your family. Going to the beach,
mountain hiking and visiting hometown, which one might be the best choice?
Why?

If I go on a picnic with my family, I will choose to go to the beach. I think

it's a great place to rest with family. It's cheap and close to my hometown so
it took us some time to get there. There are many kinds of delicious seafood
such as shrimp and crab here. Beautiful places help me take many
memorable photos. And the most important thing is that my hometown
doesn't have a beach so I love going to the beach.

Part 3: Topic

You are given 3 minutes to talk about the topic The biggest invention in
modern life.
You should develop your talk based on the following clues:

- What the invention is

- Why you think it is the biggest invention
- How it has changed our life.

I think the greatest invention in modern life is Artificial (a đơ fit sồ)

Intelligente (in theo lờ rừn). It refers to the intelligence (in theo lờ rừn) of
machines. With AI, machines perform functions (phăn sừn) such as learning,
planning, tasting and problem solving ( so ving). AI is the simulation of
human intelligence (in theo lờ rừn) by machines. It's probably (pa rộp lì) the
fastest growing in the tech world. AI has an important role to play in
healthcare. Companies are trying to develop technology for rapid diagnosis
(đai ẹt nô sựt). AI will work effectively (ơ phách tịp lì) on patients (pe sừn)
without human supervision. AI in the business world saves considerable time
and effort (ơ phọt). There are several (xe vờ rồ) applications of robotic
automation for human business tasks. There are applications in many
different fields. It can be laws, games, military (mi li te ri), government (gô
vờ mừn), etc. In short, AI seems to all become the future of the world.

Let’s talk about your favorite place.

- What place do you like to visit most?

- Why do you like it?

- Has it changed very much since you first went there? If yes, in what
way?.

I like to visit Da Lat the most because of the names that the land carries in
me such as the city of thousands of flowers, the land of love, the sad city, the
dreamy city… I love coming to Da Lat. Da Lat has fresh and cool air,
picturesque scenery, friendly people and delicious food. It has changed a lot
since I first went there, the streets are very crowded and many tourist
attractions have been built.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

Your family is planning an overseas trip this Christmas. However,

you and your family are still concerned about how long the trip would last.
Between 3 days, 5 days and 1 week, which one might be the best selection?
Why?.

I think a week might be the best option for my family to have a trip abroad
this Christmas. First, when going abroad, the time zone will be different, so
my family will spend 1 day to adapt to that time zone. While 3 days or a few
days may not be enough to overcome the plane delay. We cannot enjoy if
time and health are not stable. In addition, the one week trip is also long
enough for us to hang out and visit many famous places of the country that
we are visiting.

(Well my family can go anywhere, but I think Christmas should go to

European (ơ rô pi ừn) countries, like England.)

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3 -minute talk about the topic: A really exciting sports
event you saw.

You should say:

- Where and when it was

- What happened

- Why it was so exciting.

I watched a great sports game on television with my dad on Sunday. It was

the last match of the Asian football tournament between Vietnam and Qatar.
Under the green grass, the players in white shirt Vietnam and red shirt Qatar.
The players run fast to win the ball. The ball is passed from one foot to
another. Every time the ball approached (ất bột) the goalkeeper's goal, the
audience ( a đi ừn) cheered (chia ờ) wildly (quai đờ lì). Qatar U23 got the
lead. But just a second later, your team's net was shaken. Everyone cheered
(chia ờ) for the victory. The unexpected (ăn nếch phách tựt) joy in that match
I still can't forget.

Let’s talk about music.

- What kind of music do you like best?

- Why do you like this kind of music?

- What are the benefits of listening to music?

I can listen to different kinds of music, but I like ballads. because it's very
chill and its lyric really touches everyone's heart. For me, music is like a
miracle (mê ra cồ) medicine that can heal (hi‘ờ) all wounds (un) in the soul
(sol) . It is very effective in releasing stress, giving us a new space without
being constrained (cơn choen đựt).

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

You and your classmates are planning to have a farewell party to one of
your classmates, who is moving to a foreign country.Three places are
suggested: in your classroom, in a karaoke or at a camping site.Which
place do you choose? Why?

In my opinion, our classroom would be the best place to have a farewell

party for my classmate for a number of reasons. First of all, the classroom is
our second home, where we have so many beautiful memories and
experiences. We studied here and have been together for a long time so we
hope that she will remember this special party and our love for her. More
over, having a party in our classroom doesn’t cost as much as having it at a
karaoke or at a camping site (saai).

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic A film that you know or
like.

You should say:

- What it is called

- Who are the main characters

- What it is about and why you like it

My favorite movie to watch is Going Home. Movies are usually shown on

VTV3 in the evening. The film revolves (rê vô) around three sisters Thu Hue,
Anh Thu and Anh Duong. All three lost their mothers when they were young.
everyone has their own personality and lifestyle: Thu Hue is brave, gentle,
calm; Anh Thu is beautiful, sensitive, practical; The youngest Anh Duong
has a frank and extravagant (éch cha vơ gèn) personality. The three sisters,
despite facing many events in life, are fortunate (pho chừn nệt) to have a
common fulcrum ( pho cừm) that is Father Sơn - a devoted father who
wholeheartedly (hâu hợt đựt lì) loves his children. After many events, finally,
the three daughters realize that the greatest happiness they have is having a
father who is always ready to protect and say "go home" whenever they need
a home. . This is the best family love movie I've ever seen. It tells me one
thing that family is always the most peaceful destination, no matter how
difficult it is, parents are always ready to be there.

Test number: 13
Part 1: Social Interaction ( 2 minutes- 3 points)

Let’s talk about transportation.

- Can you say something about the transportation in your

hometown?

- What is the common means of transport in your country?

- Do traffic jams often occur in your hometown or in your country?

How to solve the problem?

I live in Hanoi. People here often travel by car, motorbike, bus, or bicycle.
The most popular means of transport in Vietnam are cars and motorbikes.
That is the reason that Hanoi often has traffic jams, especially at peak hours.
To limit traffic jams, people should use public transport instead (in tết) of
private vehicles (pờ vai vệt hiu hờ cồ). People must be fully aware of traffic
rules and strictly follow traffic regulations. Also, the government should
upgrade and widen (goai đừn) the streets.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

Your friend said that “you are too fat , you should lose weight” and they
advise you to take up three kinds of sport; doing morning exercise, going
to the gym and jogging . Which one do you choose to take up? Why?.

I choose to exercise in the morning for many reasons. First of all, it's a
method that doesn't cost too much. Although it will not lose weight quickly,
but there are many other effects (ơ phéch). Morning exercise helps you avoid
distractions. Morning exercise can help you make healthier choices. Exercise
in general helps create hormonal balance and helps you get into a routine,
which improves your sleep. Exercise and sleep go hand in hand because
getting enough sleep has also been linked to weight loss. And in addition to
morning exercise, I will choose a healthy menu.

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Your ideal holiday.

You should say:

- What your ideal holiday is

- How you feel about it

- Where are you going for the next holiday?

Vacation is a good time to travel. And my ideal vacation is going to Ha Long

Bay for 2 days with my best friends. We chose Ha Long Bay because it is
one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world. It has a beautiful,
clean and romantic beach and lots to explore (éch pô). We will travel by car.
After lunch we rested a bit then we swam all afternoon. In the evening, we
will eat a lot of seafood. We will be together on the beach to see the stars in
the sky. The next day, we will rent a boat to go see the islands like ngạc
nhiên, sửng sốt ,.. We will take a lot of photos to share common memories. I
think the trip will leave very impressive and unforgettable memories.

Let’s talk about travel.

- Have you travelled outside your country?

- What do you think is the best way to travel?

- If you were going on a long trip, who would you prefer to go

with? Why?

Yes, I have.

I have only been outside the country once. It was in June 2015 that I flew to
China. I stayed there for 3 days and the trip was really wonderful. It has been
a very memorable trip since it was the first time for me to travel overseas.

It depends on the short distance (đít từn xì). I prefer to go by car or train, but
for long distances (đít từn xì), the best way to travel is by plane.
If I were going on a long trip. I would prefer to go with my family because
we can take photos together to keep beautiful memories in our life. In
addition, I feel relaxed and happy whenever I am with my family.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

Last week your teacher gave you an assignment on Science &

Technology. You need to find information to complete the assignment.
There are 3 sources that you can search for information from: Internet,
magazines and books . Which one do you choose? Why?

When the teacher gives me an assignment (ét sai mừn) on Science (sai ừn)
and Technology, I will choose the Internet to search (sớt) for information to
complete my assignment (ét sai mừn). Because the Internet is a huge (hiu)
source of information, we can find everything we want to learn here. We can
watch videos about Science (sai ừn) and Technology, or we can read
documents about it. Moreover, the Internet is really convenient (cơn vi ni ừn)
and available everywhere so I can use it to do my homework.

Magazines and books are also an accurate source to refer to, but it will take a
long time to find the information I am looking for.

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic: The typical dishes from
your country.

You should say:- What they are

- What differences between the typical dishes in your country with those
from other countries

- Where and how they are popular in your country.

When it comes to my country’s specialties, there are many dishes worth

mentioning, but when it comes to me, I will talk about banh mi – a traditional
Vietnamese cake and also one of the best street foods, of course it’s also one
of my favorite foods.

There are many different recipes (re sờ pì) to make a banh mi . For example,
some people like ham or mix them together into their banh mi, while some
eat it with sausage. The first layer of my favorite banh mi is pork pate made
by the local shop, then topped with many thin sausages and fried eggs..
Finally, it cannot be done without cucumbers and chili sauce.

It’s very simple to make a classic banh mi, but it tastes so good. Me and
many other Vietnamese always eat breakfast because they can buy it very
easily on the street. Bánh mì appear on almost every street. The bánh mì is
also very reasonably priced; it’s only about 20,000 Vnd. Sometimes, I even
eat it at lunchtime for dinner if I’m short on time.

Let’s talk about your future plans.

- What are you planning to do after graduating from your
university?

- What are you planning to do in the next 10 years?

- What are your plans for your own family in the future?

After graduation ( ga ru rây sừn). I will take time to enjoy myself. I plan to
travel some where. Then I will apply for an internship at a suitable company
for about three months to gain practical experience (ích piu rì ừn) as well as
the opportunity to work in a good company. My long-term plan is to find a
job that matches my major and I want to work in an international business.

In the next 10 years, Every month, I will save about 3-4 million VND. I will
travel twice a year with my family and friends. Combine (căn bai) travel,
study and work to get more experience (ích piu rì ừn) applied to your work. I
will get married after I have a job with good income and have a house of my
own.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

You are going to move to a new flat but you can’t afford to buy
all the furniture for it. There are 3 things: a TV, a dishwasher and a
fridge. What do you think you will buy? Why?.

I think I will buy a refrigerator (re phích gờ rây tờ) for some reason. First of
all, some foods don't stay fresh for long and need to be refrigerated (rê phích
gờ rây đờ đựt) . I don't have time to go shopping every day, only once a week
so I need a fridge (phích) to keep my food fresh. I also like to drink cold
water and eat cool fruit in the fridge (phích) to satisfy my hobby.

Moreover, I can wash dishes by myself and don't need a TV because I have a
smartphone. I can watch TV on my phone if I want. So buying a refrigerator
is my best choice.

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Your ideal jobs.

You should say:

- Which jobs you find most interesting

- What requirements of them

- What do you like to do any of them.

I think right now the most ideal job is probably (pô rộp lì) selling online. I
think this is a pretty good job chosen by many people. All you need is a
laptop, a phone and a stable (sờ tếp bồ) source of goods to be able to do
business on e-commerce platforms ( I com mẹc phờ lát phom). From here,
you will have a stable (sờ tếp bồ) income every month. Online sales are
suitable for many different audiences (a đi èn xệt). It is not necessary to study
too intensively (in ten sệp lì ) or to be properly (pô rộp lì) trained, but only
need to learn and capture information as well as consumer tastes, to be able
to get a good foothold (phốt thồ). If there is a chance, I also want to try this
job seriously.

Let’s talk about yourself.

- Can you tell me about your typical working day?

- What do you like most about your studying/ your job?

- How do you spend your weekends?

Currently I am working part time at a small coffee shop. I get to meet a lot of
people here. My work usually starts at 6pm and phi nít at 11pm. In the
morning I have to go to school to study so I can only go to work in the
evening. Although ( o dâu) it is a bit difficult to travel because I take the bus,
I am still very happy with my current job. it helped me develop a lot in terms
of communication, speaking in the best way, and having realistic views
before leaving school.

I love to visit and take pictures, on weekends me and some friends often go
to famous places in Hanoi to visit and take pictures as souvenirs.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

Your best friend is going to hold her birthday party next week. Which
gift are you going to bring her? Why? A book, a birthday cake or a
bunch of flowers.

If next week is my friend's birthday, I will definitely give her a beautiful

bouquet (bô ke) of flowers. If the gift is a birthday cake, it is boring, because
usually the birthday cake will be prepared before. what if a book? oh, given
her personality I think it would be hard to find a book that suits her.
Therefore, a bouquet (bô ke) of flowers will be the most perfect choice,
showing subtle romance.

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Your favorite film star.

You should say:

- What film he/ she has been in

- What is the best role he/ she has ever played

- What he/ she is famous for.

One famous character that I greatly admire is Emma Watson, an actress best
known for her role in the Harry Potter series.

In those (dâu) movies, she was still a child and my first impression was that
she was adorable. I like Emma Watson for a number of reasons. Firstly, she
is extremely talented with a very good natural acting ability. Second, I have
great admiration for her career (cờ ri) ambitions. After the first movie, she
became very successful and famous around the world. In 2014, she was
appointed a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador (èm bát sa đờ)
and helped launch (lon chờ-) the U N Women campaign (kem pên)
HeForShe, which urges (ơ rợt) men to advocate for gender equality.

I usually watch all her movies and read all her news. She is my great role
model.

Let’s talk about keeping fit.

- What sorts of things do you do to keep healthy?

- How often do you play sports?

- How can we get young people to do more sports ?

First, I will eat a balanced diet (đai ệt) . For example, you should drink lots of
water. You should not eat fat, meat, junk food and fast food. Secondly, you
should do morning exercises such as jogging, playing badminton, etc.
Because this helps you get stronger, taller and healthier. Finally, I get enough
sleep.
I have to say it really depends on the situation. For example, if I have time,
then most likely I will play badminton every day. Meanwhile, if I don’t have
much time, I will most likely jump rope in my room 3 times a week.

We can encourage young people to play more sports by telling them about
the benefits of playing sports and the downsides of being inactive or playing
sports.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

If you did very well at your school/ organization ,your boss/ your
headmaster would give a bonus of a trip to Tokyo, New York or London
for a week. Where would you choose to go? Why?

I would choose to go to London for a week for a number of reasons.

- Firstly, I have been studying English for ten years and I always aspire to
go to London, the capital of England, once in my life

- There are many famous places there I like to visit like Big Ben clock tower.
Greenwich Royal Observatory. Buckingham Palace. London is also famous
for its magnificent museums (mẹc ni phi sừn miu di ừm).

- This trip was long enough for me to meet new people and learn about the
people and culture there, which I enjoyed a lot. I’m sure that a one week trip
to London will be the most unforgettable trip of my life.

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Family.

You should say:

- What you know about nuclear and extended families

- Pros and cons of living in these kinds of families

- What size is the perfect family? (Explain why?)

There are 4 people in my family: my parents, my brother and me. As far as I

know, nuclear family is a family with only two generations including parents
and children. A large family is a family with many generations: grandparents,
parents, children, etc.

Living in a nuclear family has advantages: having a free and comfortable

living space and especially children will be independent from a young age.
Besides the advantages, there are also disadvantages that when parents are
too busy, children become more and more distant, sometimes no one listens
and gives advice to their children.

And when living in a large family, it has the advantage of being with loved
ones, full of joy. The downside is that the living space is always noisy, there
is no private space. So I think the perfect family size would include 4 people:
parents and two children, since everyone needs a certain amount of space in
the house. What needs to be fixed is that people should be closer and spend
more time with the kids.

Let’s talk about studying English:

- Do you like learning English?

- What do you find most difficult about studying English?

- What is the best way for you to study English?

I like English because it is good for my work later. Besides, English is a

cross-cultural language, so I can communicate with children around the
world if I am fluent (phờ lu èn) in English.

I think speaking is the hardest. We can learn grammar. And we can

recognize (re con nai) the pronunciation but when we try to speak, we feel
nervous (nơ vợt). Because we are not sure about our Speaking part.

There are many effective (e phách típ) ways to learn English

+ Learn through songs, movies in English

+ Communicate with native speakers

+ Do exercises on grammar, vocabulary. Read and listen. Of these (di), I

think the best way to learn English is to memorize and listen to native
English speakers.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

If you could choose a job for your brother/sister, which one would you
choose for him/her in the three following jobs? Why? A teacher, an
engineer or a doctor.

I think I will choose for my sister to become a doctor. and especially this is
also her biggest dream. she is very interested in learning about biology and
people, cares and takes care of people very well. Now, she is studying at Ha
Noi Medical University. Becoming a doctor is not far away.

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Collections.

You should say:

- What kinds of things people often collect

- Why people collect things

- Do you collect anything? Did you use to collect things when you
were younger? What? Why?

There are many people who have a hobby of collecting. Collected objects are
often very diversity and abundance (đi vớ si ti en a băn đừn). Everyone's
collection reasons are different, some people like the beauty of that object,
some people want to keep it as a souvenir, some people want it displayed in
their home, ....
I don't have a hobby of collecting things. because I don't think I'll ever
collect all of them. but before that I also had a very large fortune that was
small marbles (ma bồ) . I'm not sure if it's collectible (co lếch tờ bồ ). Now I
have lost them after moving house a few times. I have a lot of marbles (ma
bồ) and they are all different colors, I usually bring them out to show all my
friends when they come to my house. that makes me really happy.

Let’s talk about your free time

- Do you have much free time in your life?

- What do you like doing in your free time?

- How much free time do you think a person should have every
day?

I'm currently studying, so I don't have too much free time, but in my free
time, I often go out to eat and chat with my friends. I like to chat with my
close friends, I can share all my stories with them. This place is always full
of laughter (lát tờ) and I feel very happy when I am with my friends. I think
a person should have 2 to 3 hours in a day to rest and relax.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

Your parent’s wedding anniversary is coming. You would like to make
them happy by buying them a wedding cake, cooking them a delicious
meal or giving them two tickets for holiday. Which one will you do ?
Why?

I am going to buy 2 tickets for holiday for my parents on the occasion of

their wedding anniversary (en ni vơ sơ ri) for some reasons

First of all, I want my parents to have private (pờ rai vệt) time without us. I
think my mom and dad will get closer and happier thanks to this trip

Besides, they love to travel, so vacation airline tickets are the most
meaningful gift.

Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3-minute talk about the topic Know about our world.

We live in the 21st century (choen ti phớt xen trờ ry) - the digital world with
the development of Internet and scientific revolutions. 4.0 technology has
changed our lives, making things easier and faster. Humans can go out to
space to explore. When we are at home we can also see the stars with our
smart devices. Men and women are becoming more and more equal in all
respects. But women can live longer than men, because they do not drink
much alcohol (ao còn hồ), beer and use things that are harmful to health. Our
life are not easy, the environment is increasingly polluted, making natural
disasters (đi sát tờ) more and more terrifying. I think the worst disaster (đi
sát tờ) is the earthquake( ớt quệt). It vibrates (vai bệt) the ground, can
destroy buildings and injures (in rợt) people. It is very dangerous if someone
falls into the cracks in the road. Nowadays, people have become more
environmentally responsible (I vai rô mừn thờ lì rét pon si bồ), making our
lives less of a worry. I am a student, and I realize (ria lai) that. I just hope I
can contribute to protecting and building a better world.

Part 1: Social Interaction ( 2 minutes- 3 points)

Let’s talk about the place you are living.

- Describe the house or flat/apartment in which you are living at

the moment?

- Do you think it is better to live in a house or a flat/apartment?

- What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a garden?

I live in a house with my parents and brother. It's in Son La city. My house is
painted yellow, 2 floors look very beautiful. In front of my house, there is a
small courtyard (co ti à). There my mother grows some vegetables with
flower pots.
In my opinion, I prefer living in a house because I can freely do what I want
without disturbing (đít tơ bing) the neighbors, such as playing loud music,
holding late-night parties.

The advantage of having a garden is that we can see beautiful flowers every
day, have fruit trees and plants at home, and enjoy the fresh air in the garden.
The downside is that we have to take care of them, spend a lot of time
gardening and get bitten by insects.

Part 2: Solution discussion (2 minutes- 3 points)

You and your family are going on a holiday to Sa pa ( in Lao Cai). You
have three choices for accommodation : A hotel, a guest house, a home-
stay . Which one might be your best choice? Why?

If I come to Sapa, I will choose to stay at a homestay for a number of reasons

First of all, the homestay is very good value for money. I can save more
money at a homestay than at a hotel or guest (gét) house. I can make my
own food without having to buy it from the store. Second, I have a chance to
meet the locals (lâu cồ) . I will experience (ích pia ri ừn) things that I don't
have in other types of accommodation, not only meet the locals here, I also
get to live with them. Moreover, the homestay also helps me learn the local
culture and customs. I could read a lot about cultures and customs before
going to sapa, but the only way to really understand them is to experience
(ích pia ri ừn) them with my own eyes.
Part 3: Topic ( 3 minutes-4 points).

You will have a 3 -minute talk about the topic Know about our world.

You should say:

- Animals have feelings

- What the Earth’s oldest are living things

- What will our life be like in the next century?

All pet owners and some scientists (sai ừn tịt) believe that animals can have a
wide (quoai t) range of move ments, such as happiness, sadness, empathy,
harshness, curiosity, anger (en gờ). Worry and fear (phia ờ). Many scientists
(sai ừn tịt) are providing animals with a full range of emotions that humans
can feel. For example, rats have compassion for their fellow human beings,
or cats are very flattering to their owners.

The oldest living creatures (cờ ruy chợt) on Earth are the stiff (sờ típ) pines
of California’s White Mountains, among these. Methuselah (me thiu sờ lờ) is
the oldest tree in the world with roots dating back more than 4,600 years.

I think in the next century, our lives will be absolutely (áp su lụt lì) beautiful.
For example, we have enough means of transportation, technology is
improving day by day, and people’s lives are also improving day by day.
That’s all there is to know about our world.
