50’s were dominated by Rock and roll. Rock and roll was the most
popular music in the mid and late 1950s, and quickly spread to the rest
of the world. Rock and roll was a mix together of various black musical
genres of the time, including rhythm and blues and gospel music.

60’s and 70’s (Juan Sebastian)

the 1960s saw funk and soul music were the most popular; rhythm and
blues in general became really popular so fast . The fusion of R&B,
gospel, and original rock were the result of the 60’s and 70’s music.

80’s (Juan Vera)

The 1980s saw the emergence of electronic dance music and new wave,
also known as Modern Rock. The 1980s are remembered for a great
increase in the use of digital recording, associated with the use of
synthesizers, with synth-pop music and other electronic genres featuring
non-traditional instruments are responsible for the popularity of those
kinds of music.

Popular music in the 1990s saw the continuation of teen pop and
dance-pop trends which had emerged in the 1970s and 1980s.
Also Electronic music, which had risen in popularity in the 1980s, had a
popular rise popular in the 1990s; also house and techno from the 80s
had change and became popularas well as new electronic dance music
genres such as rave, happy hardcore, drum and bass, intelligent dance,
and trip hop.

2000’s (Juan Andres)

Hip hop dominated popular music in the early 2000s.[ Artists such as
Eminem, Outkast, Black Eyed Peas, T.I., 50 Cent, Kanye West,
were among the dominant mainstream hip hop artists to have
represented the hip hop genre for the decade.
he emergence of hip-hop from the south and the Midwest was starting to
take place, and by the end of the decade, hip-hop was starting to spread
internationally

2010’s (Juan Vera)

Pop music had remained significantly popular due to dance-pop, electropop


and synth-pop in this decade also indie rock, was in the spotlight during the
2010s, successful alternative rock artists in this decade were Imagine
Dragons, Linkin Park and Muse,
