(AC-S09) Week 9 - Task: Assignment

- Tourist Places in my Town


Hello! Now it's time for you to do the Task for this week. I invite
you to check the instructions below. Consider that if you need
to review a topic, you can always go back as many times as you
need. Remember that you have to present this homework during
week 9.

1. Activity Learning Outcome


Through this activity, in pairs or groups of 2,3,4 or 5 students
record a short video of a dialogue where they and their
classmates are going to describe the tourist places of their
cities.

2. Description

 Step 1: Get into pairs or groups



 Step 2: Each student will describe one city:
o Make a list of the public places around the cities you have
chosen.
o Choose the public places that you are going to talk about
in your dialogue. Use the correct grammar for singular
and plural. E.g: "There is an old church near my home." /
"There are modern museums in my town".
o Make a list with the possible questions to be used in your
dialogue. E.g: "What is there in your town?" / "Is there a
gas station in your city? In my city, there is a/an...".
Remember it is a dialogue. So, take turns to ask and
answer questions.
o
 Step 3: Look at the grammar from weeks 6 to 9 to describe your cities.
o Use the grammar of There is/are (affirmative, negative,
Wh-questions, and Yes/No questions) and present simple
(affirmative, negative, Wh-questions, and Yes/No
questions).
o Use adjectives to describe the tourist places.
 Step 4: Outline your dialogue with your group, keeping in mind that it should
last 2:00-3:00-4:00 minutes.
o Practice the pronunciation and intonation of sentences
and questions.
o Remember to use the correct spelling of the words and
punctuation.
o Choose a video program to record the video.
o Remember to speak naturally, don’t read the dialogue.
 Step 5: It’s time to make your video dialogue. Remember, it is a dialogue with
interaction; avoid Yes/No answers. Say complete sentences (subject + verb +
complement).

 Format: Video (mp4) or Word format with Youtube link.
 Video Length: From 2:00 - 3:00 – 4:00 – 5:00 minutes
 Name of the video: Write your last names and names.
Example: RamirezJosé_MendozaRocío.mp4
 Channel: Online - Delivery in Canvas
 Deadline: Sunday of Week 9
 Introduce yourselves at the beginning of the video.

evaluación.

En los casos a que se refiere el párrafo anterior, si se comprueba la falta, el


estudiante obtiene la calificación de “cero anulado” (0A) como nota final del
curso, sin perjuicio de recibir la sanción disciplinaria correspondiente.
