Hello! Now it's time for you to do the Task for this week. I invite you to check the instructions below. Consider that if you need to review a topic, you can always go back as many times as you need. Remember that you have to present this homework during week 9.
1. Activity Learning Outcome
Through this activity, in pairs or groups of 2,3,4 or 5 students record a short video of a dialogue where they and their classmates are going to describe the tourist places of their cities.
2. Description
Step 1: Get into pairs or groups
Step 2: Each student will describe one city: o Make a list of the public places around the cities you have chosen. o Choose the public places that you are going to talk about in your dialogue. Use the correct grammar for singular and plural. E.g: "There is an old church near my home." / "There are modern museums in my town". o Make a list with the possible questions to be used in your dialogue. E.g: "What is there in your town?" / "Is there a gas station in your city? In my city, there is a/an...". Remember it is a dialogue. So, take turns to ask and answer questions. o Step 3: Look at the grammar from weeks 6 to 9 to describe your cities. o Use the grammar of There is/are (affirmative, negative, Wh-questions, and Yes/No questions) and present simple (affirmative, negative, Wh-questions, and Yes/No questions). o Use adjectives to describe the tourist places. Step 4: Outline your dialogue with your group, keeping in mind that it should last 2:00-3:00-4:00 minutes. o Practice the pronunciation and intonation of sentences and questions. o Remember to use the correct spelling of the words and punctuation. o Choose a video program to record the video. o Remember to speak naturally, don’t read the dialogue.
