Hello everybody!
Now it's time for you to do the task for this week, so I invite you to check the instructions
below. Remember that if you need to review a topic, you can always check the course
material as often as needed. Keep in mind that you have to present this task during week 3.
1. Learning outcome
Unidad 1: Jobs and education
Al finalizar la unidad, el estudiante explica la elección de su carrera para determinar sus
retos utilizando gramática y vocabulario pertinentes.
2. Lesson outcome
At the end of the lesson, you and your team
perform a job interview by using have to/has to and can/can’t.
3. Description

• Step 1:
o Choose the partner(s) you want to work with and get together. Decide
on the roles each one will play (an interviewer and one or two
applicants) and the job offer (human resources assistant, system
engineer, bank clerk, etc.).
• Step 2:

o Think about the skills needed to succeed in that job and make a list
using have to/has to. Remember your role in the conversation. Skills:
be sociable, be creative, be good with numbers, be a good leader,
be a psychologist, work well with people, be a good listener, be
empathic, work under pressure, have good communicative skills, solve
problems, etc. For example:
▪ Applicant: I have to be a good listener and have a good
memory.

▪ Interviewer: The person for the job has to be proactive.

• Step 3:
o Make a list of questions that interviewers and applicants commonly
make in a job interview.
o Look at the examples. Use can/ can’t/ have to/ has to.
▪ Interviewer: Can you work on weekends?
▪ Applicant: Do I have to travel?
• Step 4:
