The Future of Technology: Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world around us, and it is only
going to become more important in the future. AI is already being used
in a variety of ways, from powering our smartphones to driving our cars.
But what does the future hold for AI?In the next few years, we can
expect to see AI become even more integrated into our daily lives. AI-
powered devices will become more common in our homes and
workplaces, and AI-powered services will become more sophisticated
and easier to use.

For example, we may soon have AI-powered robots that can help us
with our housework, cook our meals, and even take care of our children. AI-powered systems could also be used to
diagnose diseases, personalize education, and even create new forms of art and entertainment. In the long term, AI has
the potential to transform society in ways that we can only imagine. AI could be used to solve some of the world's
biggest problems, such as climate change and poverty.

Machine learning per se is not a threat, but it’s definitely one of the tools that an organization like
the NSA uses. Let’s assume that the NSA can capture every electronic communication in the world.
The problem is that the vast majority of those communications are completely innocent, and they
don’t have the manpower to look at them. Again, this is where machine learning comes in. You can
have machine-learning programs that go through all these conversations, even in real time, to pick
out the suspicious ones. So if you want to create a surveillance state, machine learning is
potentially a really dangerous tool. At the same time, machine learning can also put a lot of power
in our hands. We can have our own machine learning algorithms, which will figure out how to defeat
those who want to keep tabs on us. Like any technology, it can be used by both sides.
