1 General notes

Maintenance and repair works may only be carried out during standstill periods.

All the components, e.g. trough, control springs, etc. must be free of twisting. There must not
be any material to be conveyed on the trough.

Optimal operation is only assured when in the initial position the eccentric radius is in a vertical
position to the connecting rod.
This can be checked with the help of the dowel pin installed on the eccentric shaft and the
lubricating nipple on the connecting rod bearing or the marking on the bearing cap.
Both must be aligned.

If this is not the case, dimension A (212.5) must be changed so that the lubricating nipple /
marking and dowel pin stay in alignment. Dimension B (90)of the coupler spring must not
be changed here.
If dimension B deviates it is necessary to increase or release the tension until dimension B
corresponds to the indications of the "Adjusting data for CSA-eccentric drive“ again. In case
of a double drive, both connecting rods need to be arranged in parallel.

At the same time it is necessary to check both eccentric radiuses to be aligned and staying
in alignment with each other.

2 Replacement and mounting of the coupler spring

The coupler springs are rubber elements with metal sheet inserts. Rubber is an organic
material changing its characteristics owing to light and temperature. Should coupler springs
be replaced, always replace all the springs of a drive unit.

How to proceed:

- Loosen upper lock nut at the end of the connecting rod.

- Do not loosen lower lock nut, as otherwise dimension A needs to be adjusted.
- Loosen intermediate universal shaft (if available).
- Loosen pedestal bearing housing from the b a s e plate and pull off the entire drive
until the connecting rod releases the coupler spring.
- Insert new coupler spring and make sure that the coupler spring is correctly
positioned in the centering bush.
- Tighten nut until reaching dimension B at both coupler springs and fix by lock nut.
- When screwing the pedestal bearing housing onto the b a s e plate make sure
hat the inner pedestal bearing (movable bearing) has got axial backlash.
- As to the double drive, mount the second drive in the same order.
- Mount intermediate universal shaft (if available).

2.1 Check of the adjustments

Optimal operation is only assured if the eccentric radius is 90° to the push direction. This can be checked
with the help of the dowel pin on the eccentric shaft and the lubricating nipple on the connecting rod
bearing or the marking on the bearing cap of the connecting rod bearing.
Both must be aligned.

3 Replacement and mounting of the connecting rod bearing

- Loosen crank arm from the connecting rod.
- Loosen intermediate universal shaft (if available).
- Loosen pedestal bearing housing from the base plate and remove entire drive.
- Loosen end plate. Pull off V-belt pulley or flange for intermediate universal shaft.
- Pull off outer pedestal bearing, then remove crank arm with connecting rod bearing.
- Insert new connecting rod bearing and remount in reverse order.
- When screwing on the pedestal bearing housing make sure that the axial backlash of the eccentric
shaft is still 0.15 mm at least.

3.1 Further assembly

- Fasten the connecting rod with the connecting rod bearing.
- Lift connecting rod bearing until resting on the connecting rod. Screwing areas are not in parallel
and displaced by approx. 8mm.
- Push connecting rod down until fastening holes match. Screw connecting rod bearing and
connecting rod.
- Check of adjustments (see 2.1)

4 Replacement and mounting of the pedestal bearing

- Loosen crank arm from the connecting rod.

- Loosen intermediate universal shaft (if available).
- Loosen pedestal bearing housing from the base plate and remove the entire drive.
- Loosen end plate. Pull off V-belt pulley or flange for intermediate universal shaft.
- Pull off pedestal bearing from eccentric shaft.
- Insert new pedestal bearing and make sure when mounting that the bearing cap with a 3mm thick
collar is installed on the inner pedestal bearing housing (movable bearing) and the bearing cap
with a 5mm thick collar is installed on the outer pedestal bearing housing. (Fixed bearing – driving
side)
- When screwing the pedestal bearing housing onto the base plate, make sure
that the axial backlash of the eccentric shaft is still 0.15mm at least.
- Further assembly see 3.1
- Check of adjustments see 2.1

5 Replacement and mounting of a complete eccentric drive mechanism

The eccentric drive to be newly installed must have the same eccentric radius R as the one to be
replaced. Prior to installation, checking and comparing with the existing execution is absolutely
necessary.
The eccentric radius R is marked with the number of vibrations on both shaft ends.

In case of a double drive, it is only allowed to use eccentric shafts having the same radius.

The coupler springs must be identical with the existing coupler springs. Prior to the installation, compare
dimensions of the coupler springs.

Take dimensions and details from the sheet "Adjustment data for the CSA- eccentric drive“.

- Loosen upper lock nut at the end of the connecting rod.

- Loosen intermediate universal shaft (if available).
- Loosen pedestal bearing housing from the base plate and pull off the entire drive until the
connecting rod releases the coupler spring.
- Adjust dimension A at the connecting rod in accordance with the details on the
sheet "Adjustment data for CSA- eccentric drive“. Fix by lock nuts.
- Install connecting rod with coupler spring. Adjust dimension B in accordance with the information
given on the sheet "Adjustment data for CSA- eccentric drive“ for both coupler springs. Fix with
upper lock nut.

- Mount eccentric drive with connecting rod bearing on the base plate.
- When screwing on the pedestal bearing housing, make sure that the axial backlash of the
eccentric shaft is still 0.15mm at least.

Fasten the connecting rod with the connecting rod bearing:

Lift connecting rod bearing until resting on the connecting rod. Screwing areas are not in parallel and
displaced by approx. 8mm.
Push connecting rod down until fastening holes match. Screw connecting rod bearing and connecting
rod.
Mount intermediate universal shaft (if available).
Check of adjustments see 2.1

6 Maintenance

6.1 Lubrication

For re-lubrication only use lithium base saponified greases of consistency class 2 with penetration
265/295 and dripping temperature of approx. 180°C. The lubricants must not contain any MoS2 -
additions.

If possible, the sort of grease should not be changed.

If this sort is not available, take another sort of grease from the "Table of different greases".

Due to possible dirt, only use grease guns with replaceable grease cartridges. Prior to setting the grease
gun, clean the lubricating nipple.

The bearings should be re-greased when the machine is warm. Do however not interrupt the operation
for a short time as otherwise the starting resistance might be too high.

6.2 Lubricating points of the drive

Grease pedestal bearing (drawings C000074 and C000249 Pos. 15) with 10g every 600 operating hours.
Grease connecting rod bearing (drawings C000074 and C000249 Pos. 16) with 30g every 400 operating
hours.

If the temperature of the bearing exceeds 50°C, the above-mentioned periods and grease quantities
must be halved.

6.3 Lubrication of the intermediate universal shaft with a double drive

See lubrication and maintenance of the intermediate universal shaft with a double drive on the
documentation intermediate universal shaft.

8 Checks

Check all the screwing at the eccentric drive after 50 operating hours for the first time, later-on check
every 1,000 operating hours.

If possible, tighten the connecting elements using a torque wrench with the torques indicated in the
table.

Required tightening moment M a

M 6 9,6 1
M 8 23 2,3
M10 46 4,6
M12 79 7,9
M16 195 20
M20 395 40
M24 680 68
