To start, we thank you –
Module 1: Redrock Study
Task's Overview profoundly and sincerely – for
purchasing this product and
Module 2: Redrock allowing us to help with your

application.
Module 3: PART 1 -
In July 2022, a new test has
Investigation Phase
rolled out, called the Redrock
Module 4: PART 1 - Study Task, throwing
Analysis Phase candidates into confusion, and
slowing gaining in popularity
among McKinsey oBces. In
March 2023, we also received
reports of a new update for the
Redrock test which doubled
the amount of test contents for

each candidate.

Over the course of three

months and dozens of
candidate interviews, we have
gathered enough information
on the new test to roll out a
near-accurate simulation of
this new Redrock test.

The core test Jow and logic

are already reJected in large
parts (we estimate that we
have successfully deduced
and simulate roughly 90% of
the real test contents) but
nuances remain.

As such, ALWAYS PAY CLOSE

ATTENTION TO MCKINSEY
GUIDELINES when you get the
real test, to avoid being
surprised by possible
diPerences.

Known
di:erences
between the
Simulation and
the Test

Case Interview, Tests, Math and Resume Prep 30.10.2023, 10:47

There might be certain

inaccuracies between our
simulation and the real test
because:

Redrock Study Task is

itself a work-in-progress.
McKinsey will likely alter
the test details between
weeks, days, or even
between candidates of the
same recruitment cycle.

Creating an accurate mock

test requires a continuous
cycle of trial and error,
where we raise
hypotheses, build
corresponding features,
test with actual
candidates, and then come
back to Tx the whole thing.

If you are learning with this

course in June 2023, we
would like to notify you of the
following known diPerences;
please bear in mind that this
applies to the Redrock test
deployed from March to June
2023, i.e. the time of this
writing:

Our simulation cases

currently has considerably
more text-based noise
than the real Redrock test

(the amount of quantitative

data/noise i.e. exhibits is
roughly the same). This
should have no negative
ePect on your preparation.
We will trim our cases to
more accurately reJect real
cases before early July,
2023.

Our simulation cases

contains about 20% fewer
sub-questions than the
real Redrock test. We will
extend our studies and
cases before early July,
2023.

Our simulation has fewer

quality-of-life features
(such as automatic
collection of calculation
results, or automatic
labelling of data) than the
real Redrock test, which
has been updated
following the testing
periods in 2022. We will
add these features before
early July, 2023.

Our simulation is more

responsive than the real
Redrock test (because it
contains only 2D graphics
and no behavior tracker);
which means everything
else equal, your test time in

our simulation will be

somewhat shorter than the
real test. We decide to not
create artiTcial lag to
mimic this, because it goes
against user experience;
over time, however,
McKinsey will Tx the bugs
in their real test, bridging
this gap in the process.

Our simulation currently

has no scoring
system (although it does
have a review screen). We
will incorporate a
rudimentary in the future,
but since it is impossible to
know how McKinsey
actually scores candidate,
do take the simulation
scores with a considerable
grain of salt.

There is possibly more

variance in question
types and case topics in
our simulation than in the
real tests. This is because
we have to make
hypotheses on what might
appear in the real Redrock
test, based on patterns
seen in other MBB tests,
both in the past and at the
moment, and on the
assumption that McKinsey
will gradually increase the

test diBculty in the future

(this is a known trend from
the start of the Redrock
test in 2022). We will make
clear in this guideline
whenever we must make a
guess on parts of features
of the test.
