2. DELIVERY INSTRUCTION

 Delivery instructions. Directions to an inland carrier by a shipper about


the delivery of a shipment to a particular carrier or pier for export. Not to
be confused with delivery order document which pertains to the release of
a shipment to a specified party.

 Its main function is to help customs authorities identify products and


assess the right duties and taxes on them. In the Harmonised System,
