I am excited to have the opportunity to apply for the K-12 Vocal Teacher position at ABC Area
Schools. Over the past few years, I have been working towards my professional certification at
Northern State University, where I have learned to develop instruction based on the state
standards, accommodate diverse learning styles, and foster an inclusive environment that allows
students to explore music.

This December I will obtain my Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis in vocal music
education. I am in the process of completing my Praxis examinations. I have completed my
Music Content Knowledge Praxis 5113 and am on track to complete my Principles of Learning
and Teaching: Pre K-12 5625. After the completion of my degree and Praxis examinations, I plan
to obtain my official educator certification. The education I received at NSU and the experiences
I sought out during my undergraduate degree has provided me with a strong foundation on which
I will continue to develop my skills as an educator. I am confident that I can foster a classroom
atmosphere in which students will not only grow in their musicianship, but also in the
development of their lifelong appreciation for music in all capacities.

Therefore, I believe that ABC Area Schools would provide me with an excellent environment to
hone my skills as an education and I believe that I would be a promising addition to your school
