Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we come back from summer break, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself,
my name is Vanessa Pavan and I am completing my final practicum as a student teacher at Selkirk
Secondary School. It is with great pleasure that I am able to return to British Columbia, as I grew up in
Grand Forks, BC. I will be completing my Bachelor of Education and Arts in History at the University of
Lethbridge in 2020. I expect to have an exceptional semester as I will be teaching subjects that I am
passionate about.

I will be working in Caroline Soles, Maureen Fediuk, and Scott Sharun’s classrooms teaching
Socials 9, English 9, and Career and Life 10. I have completed previous practicums in grades 9-11 in
Vauxhall, AB as well as grades 3/4 in Enchant, AB. My teaching practicum at SSS is from September 3rd
to December 20th. I will be in the classroom Monday through Friday and will be responsible for lessons,
projects, tests, and all things ‘classroom’. Throughout my practicum I will collaborate with my teacher
mentors to ensure a positive experience for your child and a smooth transition into the new year with
their SSS teacher.

I am looking forward to working with staff and students at Selkirk Secondary, as well as taking
advantage of everything Kimberley has to offer. I can be contacted with any questions or concerns
throughout the semester – or if you just want to say hello – at the information listed below.
