Dear Families,

As a new school year gets underway, I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is
Makayla Weyant, and I will be completing my pre-student teaching and student teaching assignments in
your child’s classroom. I am currently studying Early-Level Education at Mount Aloysius College. Pre-
student teaching and student teaching are my last two steps before receiving my teaching credentials. I
will be working in the classroom for the next eight weeks and the final eight weeks of the school year.

As a student teacher I will be spending time observing the class structure, routines, and lessons
that Mrs. Farabaugh teaches. I will work closely with Mrs. Farabaugh to co-plan and teach lessons in the
classroom. With the assistance of Mrs. Farabaugh, I will gradually take on all the responsibilities of a
classroom teacher. I look forward to working with such a wonderful group of children. Prior to working
in Mrs. Farabaugh’s classroom, I have worked in various other schools both assisting and teaching
lessons. I also have worked the last two summers in a preschool and daycare setting.

Teaching and working with children is a joy to me, and I am so pleased to finally be able to work
in a classroom full-time! Part of my goal as an educator is to make children lifelong learners and become
excited about going to school. During my time in your child’s class, I hope to excite you child about
learning while broadening their knowledge.

I would like to thank you for providing me with the opportunity to work with your child. I look
forward to learning from my mentor teacher and from your child!

Sincerely,

Makayla Weyant
