To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this reference at the request of Ashley McCoy, who is applying for the position of Kindergarten
position at your school. I have known Ms. McCoy for four years in my position as a K-5 STEM Lab Teacher and
Science Coach at McLendon Elementary in Decatur, Georgia. Ms. McCoy has worked closely with me in a variety of
roles at McLendon. She has fulfilled her duties as a Self-contained Special Education Paraprofessional and made
sure that her children were able to access and engage in the curriculum when they visit me in the STEM Lab. She is
also an active and detail-oriented critical member of the Science & Engineering Fair Committee each year! This has
led to multiple compliments on the organization and efficiency of our system for judging and our presentation of the
projects. Additionally, she is an eager and enthusiastic post-secondary student and teacher when engaging in
practicum-related duties. Her enthusiasm translates easily to her students when she is teaching and leads to deeper
engagement and eagerness to learn the content. Based on Ms. McCoy’s attendance, involvement, commitment, and
class participation, I’d rate her professional potential in the near future as exceptional!

Ms. McCoy has a number of strengths to offer such as connecting with students, classroom management, and
creativity. As a seasoned seventeen-year teacher, I would highly recommend Ms. McCoy for your consideration and
acceptance into the Kindergarten teacher position. If her performance in my class is any indication of how she’d
perform with your organization, Ms. McCoy will be an extremely positive addition to your organization. If you need
any additional information, feel free to contact me at 678.724.3584 or by email at teachmd03@gmail.com anytime.
