To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to recommend the hiring of Megan Callahan, an applicant to your system. I have had the honor of working with Megan since May 2015 when she starting working as a Special Education paraprofessional immediately following graduation from her undergrad. Megans motivation, collaboration and eagerness to go above and beyond for her students and Special Education team will make her a great asset to your school. It is evident that Megan has a love for the profession and a sincere interest in and concern for her students. Megan maintains a positive attitude and genuine dedication to continue discovering new ideas and strategies with students and colleagues. Megan has a natural presence in the field of Education, as she is always advancing and challenging herself to effectively communicate with adults and students. Megan takes every opportunity to participate in professional development to further her knowledge and abilities. She works extremely hard to create and follow individualized lessons and creative ways to motivate the students at hand. The students she works with not only have academic and intellectual difficulties, but anger management and social/emotional challenges as well. Megan always has a back up plan, or two, ready for any situation that may come up throughout each school day. Megan is motivated in her desire to help the students and finds ways to reach them on a personal and academic level. Megan is able to respond to direction from all staff members in all settings of the school. Megan is such a vital team member; others come to her for advice and assistance and can depend on her that the task will be completed flawlessly and in its entirety. Megan seeks out and responds well to constructive feedback to improve her many roles she takes on in our school. Megans creativity and dedication to this profession shows in all aspects of her day. I believe that Megan Callahan would be a strong addition to your system. She will bring passion and enthusiasm combined with a strong knowledge base and determination. She is a very strong advocate for children and a valuable member of a school community. Sincerely, Laura Bernstein Special Education Teacher Regional School District 13 Durham, CT
