To Whom It May Concern:
I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Whitni McCoy for the last two school years. As an
academic/instructional coach, I have had numerous opportunities to observe Ms. McCoy teach. She is a positive
individual, who has the best interests of her students at heart.
Ms. McCoy is always anxious to improve her practice. Ms. McCoy actively participated in Critical Friends Groups
for the past two years. Through her participation in Critical Friends Groups, Ms. McCoy examined student data and
work samples to inform both her instructional and professional goals. Ms. McCoy applies suggestions for refinement
to her teaching practice while asking thought provoking questions regarding her classroom and teaching situation.
Ms. McCoy engages in ongoing professional development especially in the area of technology integration. Ms.
McCoy engages learners in a range of technology tools to access, interpret, evaluate, and apply information.
As an early career educator, Ms. McCoy seeks out appropriate leadership roles. She worked to contribute to our
school culture by organizing a school-wide Read Across America Week, as well as Library Luncheon and Divine
Dining (student achievement lunches). She also co-facilitated National Elementary Honor Society.
Ms. McCoy is dedicated to her students and their learning. She acts on the belief that all students can and will learn.
She treats her students equitably while recognizing their unique differences. She adjusts her practice based on her
students interests, abilities, skills, knowledge, family circumstance, and peer relations. She continually incorporates
the prevailing theories of cognition and intelligence in her practice.
Ms. McCoy represents all that is excellent in public education today. She has kindled her students interest and
pressed them to do their best. She exhibits a deep caring and love for children. She conveys a passion for the subjects
she teaches and captivates her students with that passion. She approaches her work with creativity and imagination
and constantly strives to improve.
I highly recommend Ms. Whitni McCoy for a teaching position in your district. Please feel free to contact me should
you need any further information regarding this candidate.
