II. INTRODUCTION

i. Definition-An auditorium is the right place for any social, cultural, and
educational activity in a school. An auditorium is also known as an
assembly hall. It is an essential part of a school as it has multiple uses to
organize celebrations and recreational activities. A majority of schools
use their auditorium on a daily basis for their morning prayers and
assembly. Whenever the principal conducts a general meeting for
teachers and students, an auditorium is an ideal place. It can also be a
space for various creative activities like music, dramatics, debates, etc.

ii. Reason- Implementing an auditorium in a school is crucial for several

reasons. Firstly, it enhances learning opportunities by providing a
dedicated space for lectures, presentations, and discussions. This
centralized venue is where teachers can deliver essential lessons and
guest speakers can impart valuable insights, enriching the educational
experience. Additionally, an auditorium facilitates artistic and creative
expression, enabling students to showcase their talents in areas like
theater, music, and dance. This not only nurtures creativity but also
helps students develop vital life skills, including self-confidence and
public speaking. It is used for all types of formal assembly: lectures,
award ceremonies, dramatic plays, musical theatre productions, concert
performances of orchestra, band, chorus, jazz band, battles of the bands,
dance competitions and so on. These varied events place a range of
demands on the room. For all events, it is essential that everyone in the
room hear, clearly and enjoyably, everything that is presented. This is
the reason why we need a school auditorium in our school. A lot of
students can benefit it, not just students but also teachers.

iii. BENEFIT

The implementation of an auditorium in our school promises to offer an

array of significant benefits. Firstly, it will create a designated space for
lectures, presentations, and discussions, effectively elevating the learning
environment within the school. This dedicated venue ensures that
academic content can be delivered with precision and focus, ultimately
enhancing the educational experience. Moreover, the auditorium will
become a dynamic hub for artistic expression. Here, students will have
the opportunity to showcase their creative talents through engaging
performances in theater, music, dance, and various other art forms. This
platform encourages self-expression, boosts self-confidence, and
contributes to a well-rounded education. Additionally, the auditorium
will play a pivotal role in promoting community engagement. It will
provide an inviting space for hosting meetings, events, and outreach
activities that involve not only the students and school staff but also the
broader community. This involvement bridges the school and its local
environment, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
Furthermore, the auditorium is a prime setting for the development of
crucial life skills. It offers students the chance to hone their presentation
and public speaking abilities. These are skills that extend far beyond the
academic sphere, preparing them for future success in their personal
and professional lives. Lastly, the auditorium's potential for cultural
enrichment cannot be overstated. By hosting cultural and artistic events,
it will expose students to a rich tapestry of diverse forms of expression.
This exposure fosters cultural appreciation, broadens perspectives, and
instills a deeper understanding of the world and its myriad cultures.

III. PROJECTS NEED’S AND COST

i. Materials

These are the following materials for the foundation of the school auditorium:
Concrete, Reinforcing Steel Footings, Foundation Walls, Gravel or Crushed
Stone, Waterproofing Materials, Insulation, Drainage Systems, Anchor Bolts,
Backfill Material, Vapor Barrier.

These are the materials needed after the foundation of the school
auditorium. Structural Frame Materials, steel or reinforced concrete
columns, beams, and supports for the framework of the auditorium. Roof
trusses or other support structures, which may be made of steel or wood.
Exterior wall materials such as brick, concrete blocks, metal panels, or
other cladding materials. Roofing materials, which can include shingles,
metal, or a flat roof membrane, depending on the design. Windows and
Doors high-quality windows and doors suitable for an auditorium, which
should provide good insulation and soundproofing. Flooring materials,
which can include hardwood, carpet, or acoustic flooring. Wall finishes,
such as drywall, acoustic panels, or decorative finishes. Ceiling materials,
like acoustic tiles or decorative ceiling elements. Seating and Auditorium
Fixtures, auditorium seating, which may be fixed or movable, and should be
comfortable and ergonomically designed. Sound and lighting systems,
including speakers, amplifiers, and lighting fixtures. Stage materials and
components, such as curtains, stage platforms, and rigging. Air
Conditioning, AC systems, including ductwork, ventilation equipment, and
cooling units. Electrical and Plumbing Systems, electrical wiring, outlets,
and fixtures for lighting and other electrical needs. Plumbing systems for
restrooms. Accessibility materials like ramps, handrails, and elevators to
ensure the auditorium is fully accessible to all. Soundproofing and Acoustic
Materials, specialized materials, and designs to ensure proper
soundproofing and acoustic performance within the auditorium.

Furniture and Fixtures, auditorium-specific furniture, including seating,

lecterns, and storage units. Fixtures for restrooms and other facilities within
the auditorium. Safety and Fire Protection Systems, fire alarm systems,
sprinklers, and fire extinguishers for safety compliance.

ii. labor

Skilled Construction Labor, the wages of skilled construction laborers, such

as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, can vary, but as a rough
estimate, monthly wages might range from PHP 10,653 to PHP 13,171 or
more. Labor costs for masonry and concrete work can vary based on the
complexity of the tasks. For skilled masons, the monthly rate may be in the
range of PHP 15,354 to PHP 18,575 or higher. Project Management and
Supervision: Project managers and supervisors may charge a percentage of
the total project cost, typically around 5% to 10%.

iii. Total Cost

A mid-sized auditorium with seating for 500-1,500 people and enhanced

features may cost between PHP 50 million to PHP 100 million or more. In
this project the cost for a school auditorium is around 132 million pesos,
including the labor cost for the architect, engineers, workers and other
