Xtralis Flexible Pipes Installation Instructions

Installation sheet provides essential information for the correct handling of Xtralis flexible pipes.

Caution: Incorrect installation practices could lead to a failure which is the responsibility of the installer.

• Size: 25mm and ¾” pipe

• Inside Diameter: 18.5mm
• Temperature range: -20°C to +65°C (-4°F to 149°F)
(Should not be installed next to hot surfaces)

25mm Flexible Connector 30cm (grey) PIP-026-G

• Optimum flow maintained by smooth bore.

• Can be pushed/twisted into the rubber cuffs then tighten the jubilee
clips sufficiently just to keep a firm grip on the ABS pipe
• Available as 30cm and 100cm with 2 cuffs and 2 stainless steel
jubilee clips per flexible included - other sizes are available on
request.
• 100cm flexibles should be supported via a clip or cable tie at mid-
point whilst allowing the flexible to have enough movement for
installation requirement (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2)
• Clips fixed to the ABS pipe either side of the flexible should be placed Fig. 1:
A B
0.5m (1.68ft) away from the sockets as to allow the ABS pipe to Pipe (PIP-021)
contract or expand.
• The flexible pipe (PIP-021) depicted in Figures 1 and 2 offers
the greatest flexibility and should be used where extended pipe
A
contraction / expansion is anticipated. For less severe pipe movement
the flexible pipe (PIP-026), depicted in Figure 3, can be used.
It is suggested to maintain a distance “AB” of 0.3m (1ft) for flexible
pipe (PIP-021) and 0.1m (0.33ft) for flexible pipe (PIP-026).
• Not to be bent at 90° (alternative see Fig. 2 and Fig. 3)
• A general guide of contraction/expansion properties for ABS pipe is B
10mm per 10m per 10°C (0.4” per 32.8ft per 18°F)
• Flexible pipe(s) can be included on horizontal and/or vertical pipe
runs. For vertical pipe runs, flexible pipe arrangements as depicted in Fig. 2
Figures 2, 3 is recommended to prevent water accumulation. Pipe (PIP-021)
• Inclusion of flexible pipe(s) must be modeled in ASPIRE to
understand effects on pipe network performance (hole sensitivity /
transport time).
