Prerequisites: (it is a Foundation Course); Pakistan Studies
Introduction: This course focuses on various aspects of the Pakistan Movement. It traces the flow of
events, political actors and interactions from 18th Century, describes Reformist Movements of Shah
Waliullah and Mujaddad Alaf Sani, the 1857 ‘War of Independence’ and the subsequent role of Syed
Ahmad Khan to the demand for Pakistan and its ultimate fulfillment under the able leadership of Quaid-
i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Almost all significant milestones in this journey towards freedom have
been briefly analyzed in this course.
2. Students should become familiar with Pakistan’s ideology and its significance.
3. Students will gain an in depth knowledge of significant milestones in the journey towards
establishment of Pakistan.
