Guidelines for homework submission:

1. This is an individual homework; in case you receive or get any help penalties will be
applied.
2. Use A-4 sized, white paper. Scan and upload your solutions as a single pdf file.
3. Provide proper and consistent units for all dimensional quantities. Convert the units
if necessary. Omission or incorrect usage of units will cause grade reduction.
4. Your solution should be readable. Neatness may affect grading.
5. Cite all the references you used for the solution of the problems, such as tables,
figures, appendices, other books, internet, etc.
6. As specified in the syllabus, to be eligible for taking the final you must submit all the
homework assignments.
7. For each day of late submission, the grade is going to be degraded by 20%. After the
5th day, the grade is going to be zero.

and the reaction at the roller B, on the beam shown in the figure below.
