Capable of 50 amps intelligent charging for flooded & AGM batteries. These units
must provide a constant voltage to prevent loss of data and possible damage to
control units during software updates and module reprogramming, as well as
diagnostic processes when in a 'Key On, Engine Off' state. A power supply/battery
support unit must be used every time the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic
system is connected to the vehicle.

GE2.6 - In-Line Diagnostic Unit (IDU2) 0

The following approved diagnostic equipment:

The IDU2 interfaces with the Jaguar Land Rover diagnostic system to offer
improved diagnosis of hard to diagnose systems such as door locks and latches,
EGR valves, etc.
When IDU2 is called for it will appear in the diagnostic system list of candidates
and full instructions for use will appear on the diagnostic system screen when the
application is run.

The IDU2 kit is available under part number JLR-IDU2-RoW (or NAS depending on
market as the lead content varies between markets).

GE3.1 - Smart Battery Chargers 0

Battery chargers must only be used to recharge a battery and must not be used
when the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic system is connected to the
vehicle as they do not maintain a constant voltage.

The following approved battery care equipment:

Currently, only the Midtronics EXP1080 battery tester is mandatory, although the
GR8 and GRX 3080 testers are approved for use in different markets where
available.
While the Midtronics EXP-1080 remains the mandatory equipment, primarily for
the 30-day battery care requirement, retailers should consider using the GRX-3080
for any customer vehicle battery diagnosis to ensure a thorough diagnosis is
made.

harnesses and connectors across all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles

GE3.14 - Traction SSU2-50 Clamps 0

The appropriate leads to support a change in process on connecting the Traction


showroom support unit (SSU2) without requiring the repositioning of trim, wheel
arch liners, etc. Jaguar Land Rover have developed fly cables to connect to the
jump start points (where fitted) under the hood, allowing the SSU2 cables to be fed
through the engine bay to the floor where they can be connected to the SSU2
beneath the vehicle. Every demonstration vehicle in the showroom must be
connected to a showroom conditioner.

Approved units are available with tool numbers BSU-CLIP (for Discovery Sport and
Range Rover Evoque) and JLR-Blade (for all other models)

Note: The requirement is that every demonstrator vehicle in the showroom must
be connected to a showroom support unit, this can be any of the approved units
defined in this standard

Note: Authorised repairers without a sales/showroom facility are exempt from this
requirement

GE5.3 - Torque wrenches (range 0.6 - 340Nm) 0

Equipment capable of reading torque values from 0.6 - 340 Nm. Accuracy
tolerance +/- 2% of scale value, reversible ratchet.

The required range can be achieved using multiple torque wrenches, for example,
1/4 dr torque screwdriver for 56 - 451 N/cm (0.56 - 4.5 Nm), 3/8 dr torque wrench
for 5 - 50 Nm, 1/2 dr torque wrench for 17 - 340 Nm.

Note: All measuring equipment should be calibrated in accordance with the


requirements of the market in which they are used
