INTRODUCTION

Summary of the Project

The project name of business is “Automated Coconut Sugar and Syrup Production
Machine”. This project is designed to do a fast and automated production of Coconut
Sugar and Syrup with few programmable features such as: Temperature control, Moisture
readings and can select different type of output production. This project is ideal for less
labor-required production as it functions automatically and has a user-friendly design for
easy use features.

A) Location of the Project (Vicinity Map)

The important factor that determines success of the business is the location of the project
to be installed. The proponents decide to put up or install the project in Pantollano
Coconut Farm located in Brgy. Cebuda, Tugbok District, Davao City in which coconut
production is very known and common.
B) Market Projection

The demand of the Coconut Sugar and Coconut Syrup is increasing and since the country
is experiencing sugar production shortage, Coconut Sugar is considered as the best
substitute for sugarcane, as a type of “sweetener”. We the researchers innovate a
machine to promote a less manual labor and to produce more product than the traditional
way of making Coconut Sugar and Syrup. This is addressed to the following consumers:

• Coconut farmer who produce Coconut Sugar and Syrup in manual and
traditional method.
• Small business owners selling different coconut products.
• Finished products for household consumers.
C) Market Share of Financing

The coconut industry has a big demand in Brgy. Cebuda, Tugbok District, Davao City.
Due to the shortage of coconut, the researchers decided to offer a machine that will help
the people in the field of this industry to make an affordable sugar made from coconut so
that the shortage will lessen and may aid to deal with another product for them to sell.
Based on the researchers’ computation, only 300-400 kilograms stocks of coconut are
supplied by the competitor per harvest, but if they avail the Automated Coconut
Production Machine it can boost their income to 500-600 kg per sack that will be sold.
The machine can also provide another source of income which is the sugar that is made
up from the coconut.

D) Market Price

The total cost of the Project is 15,584php and the decided market price is added
25% of the total cost is 19,480php.

E) Investment Cost

The value of the project, its reputation, assumption of the business name, existing client
base, etc. is recognized as part of the purchase. It appears as a start-up expense and the
investment cost of this project is from the researchers’ savings which was accumulated
equally to start up the project which the total cost is to make this project success clearly
as 15,584php.

F) Methods of Financing

Automated Coconut Sugar and Syrup Production Machine is personally financed by the
respective owners and agreed to divide equally.
CHAPTER II. MANAGEMENT ASPECT

A) Objective of the Project

The objective of this project is to develop an automated machine that is capable

of producing Coconut Sugar and Coconut Syrup with less manual labor and it has a
temperature, and moisture control for more accurate product outcome. This aims to
promote a project that helps in faster production of coconut products specifically Coconut
Sugar and Coconut syrup to small coconut product business owners and coconut farmers
to give them ideas and insights in selling extra product from the main ingredient which is
the Coconut.

The Automated Coconut Sugar and Syrup Production Machine objectives

for the 5 to 6 years project range includes:

➢ To meet the customers and operators demand of quality products produced by the
machine.
➢ To give the operators high-quality production machine and a fair competitive price.
➢ To innovate a project that aims to reduce the manual labor production of Coco
sugar and Coco syrup.
➢ Provides an accurate reading of the temperature and moisture control with regards
to the desired product outcome.
➢ To offer an easy-access to parts and services during maintenance and repairs.
B) Management during Pre-Operating Period

C) Management during Operating Period

The proponents will immediately proceed in initiating the operation of machine with the
preparation of estimated raw materials (Coconut Sap) to be used in the production. In this
manner, researchers will promote the functions and special features of the machine for
the potential customer to test its ability and accuracy to be able to show how our machine
perform and do its work.

D) Type of Business Organization

Our business is a collaboration, but the production machine we offer is a form of machine
that can give those coconut farmers and tenants another source of income. This business
is staffed by two to three people. This business requires additional investors or customers
that will purchase our machine. In contrast to a corporation, a partnership does not exist
independently of its individual shareholders. The partnership does not pay income tax on
its own.
A business partnership typically starts with a verbal agreement between the partners to
start a new company or to split an existing company. This agreement is then formalized
in a written document that specifies the type of partnership and the terms of the
agreement and is signed by all parties.
The fact that our business is a partnership, it may be due to the fact that improved
communication makes handling issues and its scope less difficult that leads to faster
growth.

with a proper response and assistance to the costumers and treat them with the
respect they deserve.

E) Contribution to the Philippine Economy

The contribution to the Philippine Economy of this projects, the coconut farmers'
work will be made easier and they will have a new source of income. Numerous
government agencies started initiatives that will aid the development of the
business as a result of the coconut industry's potential and major contributions to
employment and the next generation. The integration of government support
projects and programs affects different levels of the value chain for the coconut
industry. It is anticipated that this will transform and empower coconut farmers into
thriving coconut sugar producers, which are vital and a long-term additional source
of income for coconut farming.
Chapter IV
Project Description

A. Number of Days the Project Operates Per Year

This project operates 1 to 2 months per year to do a maintenance and inspection.

After the maintenance and inspection, the said project will operate again to produce sugar
and syrup made from the Coconut.

B. Uses of the Project

The project will use to help those Coconut farmers to give them another source of
income (to reach new market product that will boost their income). Aside from that, this
project will also help the community of sugar industry to provide another source of
production of sweets that is made from the Coconut.

C. Exact Project Site

This project was made in Tubon Machine Shop at the Province of Cotabato exactly
located in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato.

D. Type of Building

The type of materials to create this building project was essentially assemble
through Liquid Ph Sensor, Stainless Steel for the body of the machine, Ball Valve,
Microcontroller, Arduino Mega 2560 with 16 mHrz, Temperature Control, Stainless Wok
to hold the processed coconut sugar or syrup, Soil Moisture Sensor and Water Level
Sensor used to determine the amount of sap to be dispensed into the wok.

E. Cost of the Construction or Rental

Since one of the researchers of this project is also the owner of the concerned
shop, the whole cost of the device/machine was reduced in a minimal amount. In terms
of rental cost, each researchers contributed equal totality.
